You Haven't Allowed Facebook Access to Your Camera and Microphone

Hello,
For the past week, I've been getting this pop up when I want to make a Messenger video call. Been using this for over a year without a glitch. Both camera and mic work fine with Skype and Zoom but not with Messenger. Checked all settings in FB and Google Chrome to make sure mic and webcam are 'allowed'. Tried a couple of troubleshooting YouTube vids. Even did a whole recovery process, going through the pain of reinstalling apps...ugh..., with no results. The only thing I remember that may - or may not- be related is that I connected my laptop (where I use Messenger) to my Samsung bluetooth speaker. After that, Messenger video calls went kapout!!! Please HEEEEEEEELP!!!!
Thank you!

You Haven't Allowed Facebook Access to Your Camera and Microphone
It seems facebook has removed the webcam option thereby making this error hard to fix. According to this post to fix the facebook hardware access error, It says it might even be facebook not allowing people with adblocker to use facebook messenger webcam.
I did try out the methods mentioned but it helped before but not it seems be not working. Maybe it will get fixed for some people.
Facebook is using this to try and force users away from browser access into dedicated Facebook and Messenger app usage because advertising can be blocked when using a browser [Facebook Purity] and cannot when using an app....
Hi,
Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.
In regards to your concern, please help me with following questions:
- Are you using Messenger application or on the Web Browser?
- What is the error message/code you are getting?
- Is the Webcam an external or internal?
- What is the make and mode of the Webcam/computer?
If you are using the Messenger application:
Try to allow the privacy settings for the app to make use of the Webcam and Mic.
To do that, you can go to Settings>Privacy>Camera. Look for the Messenger app and toggle the camera access option to ‘On’.
Do the same for the Microphone option as well.
Since you mentioned that the issue occurred after the computer was paired with the Bluetooth speaker. You can try to remove the specific device.
To do the same, you can go to Settings>Devices>Bluetooth & other devices. Select on the device name and click on ‘Remove device’.
Please get back to us with the required details, if the issue persists.
Hope it helps.

Sorry late reply - but I did get it to work.
Thank you for All the assistance you gave me, I was able to resolve my issue by -
1, I canceled the Allowing of Camera and Video. (even if it is showing ALLOWED)
2 Made sure that in C, drive there was no other Search engine ie chrome (delete folder)(if you have changed from chrome to any other search engine.)
4, Reload system
5, Re-install wecam
6, call member on Messenger - Give Permssion for webcam & Mic
I did all this and for me this did work, The problem is That FACEBOOK has updated there systems and there is no camera settings in the new Facebook page any longer, .
I use Messenger.com from Browser - Not from Facebook messenger as I could not get it to work for me. but it works not a problem from the Browser Messenger .
I hope this helps others too, I know its a pain when you cant call loved ones or family.
Thanks to All helpers and all who replied (krg1605)
