I have a 4yr old Dell XPS & a brand new Inspiron, running 64 bit; both running Windows Home, and both updated last week.
On both I suffered the disappearing folders situation.
Fortunately able to restore from my back up.
Have also disabled syncing with One Drive, which may have been part of issue.
If you have updated a laptop, PC or server the update should keep all user data in a folder called Windows.old on the root directory of the system drive. If you system drive is C you should be able to find your missing files in the C:\Windows.old\Users(your user name\Documents folder.

Hey, after the update to 1809 I have some issues like missing files and the Bluetooth cannot perform transfer between my phone and laptop only vice versa !!! and this happens is after the new update !!!
So after all what should I do, wait for a new update or just wipe out the windows and reinstall it ?!
