Files not synced - OneDrive

PCR - thanks!  That folder does not have only 3 files in it - I am just showing a screen shot of 3 of the files so I don't have to mask all the files (there are hundreds).  There is no hidden folder - Office 365 and I already looked at that issue (i.e. you can choose to make sure that it shows all hidden files).  We initially thought that might be an easy fix - no such luck.   And, it's not just that folder - it is 20 plus folders that have the synch icon wrong (yet files inside the folder are all synched).   Also, if that was the issue than the second windows login would not show completely normal - which it does.  

It really is the windows login account (which is the MS account) that has the issue (they've proved that and wrote a very detailed note to tell the Windows team they needed to re-sycnh or "fix" my MS office account (used to login to Windows ).  I just need to have a widows or MS tech file a ticket to re-synch or look at the corrupt account (I have not gotten competent individuals).  Perhaps I  need to find a better 800 number to call to get a "supervisor" that actually has experience (i.e. that same supervisor did not even know Stick Notes was a Windows vs. Office 365 product and then didn't even suggest a way to uninstall and reinstall Sticky Notes (or to just use the Windows App repair tool and said that I would just need to wait for a software update (FYI - someone else suggested the repair and or uninstall and that fixed my issue) - so I don't think that "supervisor" knows much of anything about MS or Windows.  Maybe I need to call at a certain time of day to get a better "supervisor".

That doesn't look right.

(1) Move that folder out of OneDrive - the one that only has 3 .docx files in it.

     The 3 .docx files obviously go with it. For sure the circular double-arrows are gone.

(2) Make a new folder in OneDrive with the same name of the one moved out.

     This is to be sure some super-hidden file in the original won't come back.

(3) Move just the 3 .docx files into the new folder.

Yes -this was turned on.  FYI - MS oddly made me create a new user name here even though I was already signed in with this same MS profile when my computer re-started.  So Hoyas97# is still me.   

I didn't create the second "test" windows login profile, Office 365 did when trouble shooting to prove the issue is not an Office 365 issue, but something corrupt with my windows login profile.  I would guess it was just a "guest" profile as you state (see screen shot below), but again, I am relecutant to just delete the windows login profile (which is a MS profile not a "local profile") for the reasons that PCR mentions and it is used not just to login here (meaning it is a MS profile)  and is logged in on an old computer too.  So I fear just deleleting that profile might cause me other issues vs. just the annoying synch status icons that are off (yet everything is actually synched). Windows should be able to look into the profile and re-synch it on their back end (or maybe they need to have the MS profile tech guys do it?).  I just need to find a competent windows supervisor to do this and file a ticket.  

Another reason why I suspect I would not want to delete this profile - is it's tied to the encyption key (see screen shot).  Not sure what that will do.

Second "test profile"

Ok - super odd.  MS kept not allowing me to post again (or wanted me to create a different user name with my already logged in MS profile) so not sure if this will work).  These files are in the exact folder that appears as not synched (or "still synching") yet when you go into the folder, the individual files are synched.  Again, pointing to some odd issue.   These folders are inside the file that shows as still "synching" (there are hundredes of individual files - but they all show the same status as the sample here).  The problem is at the "folder" level.  

You've got it covered with the backups. The gaming computer, of course, must not have done a "free up space" on the file you hope to recover. Also, OneDrive will keep a file in its Recycle Bin for 30 days max (maybe just 3 days, if the Bin is full)...

I'm glad your syncing problem is resolved. I did have an "x" icon on one file once, myself, but can't seem to find it now.
