hello , Yesterday I installed the 1809 update , and today i noticed that each time i restart my laptop the brightness level is being reset automatically to 0% or 25-50 i'm not really sure , and after windows will boot up , i will need to manually adjust the screen brightness again to 100% . I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

2018-11-28T15:58:26+00:00 I have the SAME issue sort of. After Update the "brightness" setting REVERTS back to 50% always when you start up or restart. Currently on battery I have 70% set and 100% when plugged in.
VERY annoying and I wish Microsoft would fix it. Been on phone with HP and they knew about this and it was a Windows 10 Update issue.

you will have to take ownership of State then give your self write permissions
and set
"SliderBrightnessPercent"=dword:00000064
"ScreenBrightnessPercent"=dword:00000064
this then forces 100% on every boot
or better still disable DisplayEnhancementService and the value set by your self will be respected on every boot
atleast in the case of my Vostro 3750 (4 hours old install of the latest October 2018 Update on a secure erased ssd)

2018-11-27T02:25:40+00:00 I had the same issue after updating to 1809. Changing brightness levels from the keyboard or from within Settings moved the slider, but did nothing to the actual brightness of the screen. Updating drivers and rebooting did not help. I also had a mysterious floating white circle on my desktop background, which occasionally moved position after a reboot.
I just discovered that the problem appears to have been caused by f.lux, which I had been using for night lighting, not cooperating with the 1809 update. Since Windows 10 now has a built-in feature that makes f.lux redundant, I uninstalled f.lux, and after rebooting, all of my brightness issues were resolved.
