I have installed all the latest updates and the issue is not fixed. I disabled the DisplayEnhancementService as a work around.
Windows Brightness issue after the 1809 update

hello , Yesterday I installed the 1809 update , and today i noticed that each time i restart my laptop the brightness level is being reset automatically to 0% or 25-50 i'm not really sure , and after windows will boot up , i will need to manually adjust the screen brightness again to 100% . I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

2018-11-15T17:34:23+00:00 I disabled the service as described and rebooted. Sure enough the brightness remained at the same level.
Just for testing, I set the service startup back to manual and started the service. My internal screen immediately dimmed to 50%.
I've stopped the service and set the startup to manual. I'll have to keep monitoring this thread and other forums to know when Microsoft finally patches the flaw and it's safe to re-enable the service.

I don’t see any problem on my laptop. Brightness control works, color profiles work. Maybe DisplayEnhancementService affects some rare features like automatic brightness adjustment etc. (if your laptop supports such features). BTW, Windows worked good for years without DisplayEnhancementService - it was added in 1803 update as far as I know.
