Windows Brightness issue after the 1809 update

Forget updating your graphic cards driver nothing works.use this.

1. run Regedit
2. search

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000]

3. Find paramiter"FeatureTestControl" . Type is dword32. Insert value:0000f048
4. reboot

Still doesnt work;

This might work but there are also other registry keys that probably can be used in this case. However I assume this has nothing to do with actual discussed problem in this thread. Because "FeatureTestControl" modifications are typical used for Intel Graphics when the brightness control is permanently and completely stuck. At least in my case this way the case.

I leave also some reference on this problem. I have/had this will with my XPS 14 when I update Intel drivers to generic ones.

hello , Yesterday I installed the 1809 update , and today i noticed that each time i restart my laptop the brightness level is being reset automatically to 0% or 25-50 i'm not really sure , and after windows will boot up , i will need to manually adjust the screen brightness again to 100% . I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think  , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

Same problem with Dell XPS 13 9360

I have a similar issue on a Dell XPS 13 9360 that we have at home.

After the 1809 version was installed in October, the display brightness remained stuck at 50%.  After the Nov Cumulative Update, the brightness could be adjusted but a new issue popped up as follows:

• If the laptop works on battery for a long time, then the display brightness remains again stuck to 50%: plugging to the AC power outlet does allow the brightness to increase. The only remedy I found out  is  to shutdown and re-start the laptop with a new start, then the brightness control works nominally again.
