Windows 10, Version 1809. Network does not show computers

It says, "Addresses an issue that may cause mapped drives to fail to reconnect after starting and logging onto a Windows device."

I'm unsure that is close enough for a solution, but worth a look.

If you're looking for HomeGroup, it is no longer available now because network sharing is changed on Windows now and HomeGroup is removed on V1803 or later.

I have exactly the same problem that you describe, in fact I raised a question on this forum about it.

Restarting the Function Discovery Resource Publication Service will fix the problem, until the next restart.

I've set up 3 shortcuts (\PC-A, \PC-B, \PC-C) in File Explorer\Quick Access, as a work around.  You can also map the shared drives as an alternative.

Presumably Microsoft will come up with a fix in due course.

Now I take time to search possible solution for not seeing all PC's on file Expolorer Compuer section.

I got all my PC's back to visible in Win versions 1803, 1809 and 19H1 by resetting network settings.

(Why I didn't think that ever before! So stupid of me.)

Go to Settings / Network / Status, scroll down and click "Network reset" it take about 5 min and then PC reboot automatic. After that all my PC's were visible again no matter which Win version is used.

That was the 1st think I tried, with 1809 it works after the first restart, but if you restart again it will drop the PC's that have both Wi-Fi and Ethernet and that are connected via Ethernet.

The only workaround that get back those PCs is by restarting the service Function Discovery Resource Publication.

This does not happen with machines that are connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet machine that only have the Ethernet adapter, I have only seen the problem on machine with both adapters and only with 1809.

Restarting Function Discovery Resource Publication is the only workaround that works so far, we need a permanent fix from Microsoft for the specific case described earlier in the thread for machines with Ethernet & Wi-Fi adapters.
