Remove the device. Open Command Prompt as admin.
Run this command :
reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Bluetooth\Audio\AVRCP\CT /v DisableAbsoluteVolume /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
Add the device again and now you can play.

Windows 10 PC will no longer connect to my LG Soundbar via bluetooth. They pair okay, but the LG speaker does not show up in the list of available speaker output devices.
I have tried removing the LG bluetooth device and then reconnecting to it, but it made no difference.
Other audio source devices, eg, ipod, connect, and work correctly with the LG soundbar via Bluetooth.
Has something changed in Windows that is now stopping this connection working? It stopped working about 3 months ago I think.
Any ideas
Thanks
Paul

Worked for me on 2 Windows 10 laptops and an LG Micro (2010!). Had to reboot after the registry edit and had to reset advnaced sound properties in Windows Sounds on one of them (It would play Youtube ads through Bluletooth but the videos would revert to Windows speakers. All working fine now
I found the solution for my LG HTS here thanks to the user who shared it at the end of the link.
he mentions windows has already released a solution again at the end of the link:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-hk/help/14169/windows-10-fix-bluetooth-problems
follow the instructions here to disable the absolute volume function for headphones in the registry.
hope it helps. it was very annoying not being able to use it.
So, I had the same issue with LG SJ9. I read all the comments here and what worked for me was to connect the soundbar to the wifi and update its firmware using the music flow app on my phone. worked like a charm. Thanks!
MERRY christmas all ! Days searching and I stumbled on this fix. Worked a treat. Thanks all for sharing !

When I first contacted them they just said okay we will look into it. I then found out about Voice of Concerns and called them back and asked them to escalate it and provide me with a VOC number, now we can stay updated about their progress.
If it is a driver issue, they need to confirm why and provide Microsoft with the steps they can take to release a working driver. I'm more inclined to believe it is an issue with the LG soundbar firmware.
Either way, it is effecting products less than 3 years old. Hearing it is probably this or that and with no commitment to finding a solution is very insulting to hear as a customer.
Bluetooth is meant to be an international standard. Either LG or Microsoft has done something to break this. I believe you can lose your Bluetooth accreditation if you do not follow the protocols correctly. This should warrant an investigation by Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
It is absolutely unacceptable that an LG soundbar cannot communicate via Bluetooth with the most common consumer operating system at all.
I know for a fact that it works in Windows 1709, so it is a persistent change since 1803 that has broken Bluetooth functionality.
Either way it is LG's product and they should of had this issue fixed a long time ago, or at least a concise answer explaining how the Bluetooth protocol with all its backwards compatibility is now broken in their products.
