Epson scanner will not work with latest windows 10 update

My epson perfection v700 scanner (that allows me to scan photos, negatives, documents, etc.) and that I paid over $800 for) stopped working with teh latest update two days ago. I've downloaded a new driver and other software from Epson and it doesn't work. Can I uninstall this update? I like my scanner a whole lot more than I like Windows.

    Can your computer see the printer in your network?  Try the ip address. I'd try removing the printer and add it thru Windows not an Epson install

    Wen I try to scan, printer says it cannot connect to computer.

    The Epson app says it has a software printer driver update. When I try to update it, says it is not connected. It will not download without it being connected, can't connect without update!

    In all issues I've dealt with the problem is not the driver but the scanning software. Being that the scanner functions using other software or by right clicking on the printer in the control panel.

    Microsoft seems to have policy of destroying drivers. I don't want to take sides on this particularly disgusting issue, but we need a legislative system whereby the culprits are penalised to the point where they are put out of business. What's the European Union doing about it?

    "...don't want to take sides..."  Ha Ha.  You're entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts.  It's the responsibility of hardware manufacturers to keep drivers updated--how could it be any other way?

    Hardware manufacturers - and any developer for that matter - need a stable computing platform on which to work. On the evidence, Windows, with all those updates, doesn't meet that requirement. It could be argued that Epson should be able to follow reasonable quickly, but there are so many peripherals and drivers in use that support for quite new equipment might be withdrawn in order to limit the suppliers' work load. In plain language, that's called forced obsolescence, which MS might be accused of feeding, and which legislators are rightly attempting to combat.
