My epson perfection v700 scanner (that allows me to scan photos, negatives, documents, etc.) and that I paid over $800 for) stopped working with teh latest update two days ago. I've downloaded a new driver and other software from Epson and it doesn't work. Can I uninstall this update? I like my scanner a whole lot more than I like Windows.

As I mentioned in my post on 8th June, Epson have admitted that their scan software does not work properly with W 10 version 1803, they told me over 1 month ago that their highest technical department in Japan were working with MS to work out a solution to the problem.  They are certainly taking their time!

As reported here some users found reinstalling software or running as Admin solves the issue but I can tell you none of it works with the Workforce WF-7610! Only option is to revert to 1709 (if you can) or use 3rd party software until Epson issues a fix! Windows 10's built in scan will work but it's very basic.

I just wish Epson would get a move on, everyday I check the website looking in vain for a new driver which never appears.

    I dared...

Collected latest drivers and software from the epson.com site (rather than from my local country one); cleared out all existing Epson drivers, printers and software then re-installed from the downloads.

      Print driver

      Scan driver

      Scan OCR

      Remote print

      Software updater

Spent a bit of time configuring them...

...and - they all works fine now. Hard to understand what the problem was.

Good luck to all who still have issues - keep at it!

So I tried one more time (installed latest Scan driver) and ... it started working !

No real difference - but who knows.... there are too many variables to keep track of.

I see also there are different parts of Epson (different markets?) which offer variations on the drivers and packages even just for my printer. Don't know whether I dare try them now it's working again...

My scanner is not new. Been using for 5 years already in Win7. When I saw this post then I go to download a driver from Epson & it works. First time used in Win10

Thanks for this observation. Evidently, not all Epson products are affected. Some of the older drivers for Epson scanners and printers have not yet been updated and still have a problem with Win 10 build 1809.

    Kind regards

    Chris
