Google Chrome Notifications in Windows Action Center Won't Load Pages When Clicked

With the most recent update to Google Chrome, push notifications are now in the Action Center. This would be fine, if clicking said push notifications actually opened the page referred to IN the notification (example would be YouTube video notifications for subscribed channels). Instead, it just makes the notification disappear. How can this be fixed? At it is, seeing a notification for something and then having to go manually search for the item is beyond useless, and defeats the entire purpose of a push notification. Thanks for any assistance provided in advance!

I too have this problem for quite a while. Every now and then a notification will open a chrome tab, but it is a rare event.

Has Microsoft abandoned this issue? It has been 6 months since they last replied to us.

I've recreated your issue and all seems to be working well.

I'd need to confirm some details so we can further check:

Does this only happen to Chrome push notifications?

Which Windows 10 version and build are you on?

Type winver into the Cortana search box, then hit Enter.

Try to uninstall, then reinstall Chrome or check for any pending updates.

Thanks for your response. I have confirmed Chrome is up to date - Version 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit), and uninstalled/reinstalled the software. According to winver, my version of Windows 10 is 1803 (OS Build 17134.228). When I click other push notifications, it will load the location related to said notification (news, downloads, updates, etc).

Since posting this, 2 out of 10 Chrome push notifications (all from YouTube, if that has any relevance) have loaded new browser tabs when clicked. The remaining 8 do as previously described; simply disappear when clicked.

Until the problem with Chrome and Windows Action Center notifications is fixed, you can go back to Chrome notifications as follows. Go into chrome://flags, search for "enable native notifications" and set that to disabled. Then restart Windows. Then you'll see an older-style Chrome notification. It's not the Windows Action center, but so far it's working for me. Use this page to test out the notifications - https://www.bennish.net/web-notifications.html .

The simple answer for this is to turn off the Chrome setting for the windows activity center.

To do this just enter the following into Chrome:
```
chrome://flags/#enable-native-notifications
```
Then set the 'Enable Native Connections' setting to 'Disabled'

Thanks for the additional information, DreadLight.

Kindly bear with me, I've submitted a report to our developers to check if this is a possible bug and asked a colleague of mine to recreate this issue just to check if he'd get the same thing. We'll be checking for other triggers, and configure some settings both in Chrome and YouTube just to make sure.

I'll post back as soon I get an update from them.

I also have this bug and the notifications just disappear.
