Bluetooth volume broken after Windows 10 1803 update

I have a Samsung DA-E670 bluetooth(BT) speaker that I use as my main speakers connected via BT. After the Windows 10 version 1803 update recently, I can no longer adjust the volume of these speakers from the master mixer in the taskbar.

The slider moves but the volume doesn't change unless it's slid to the minimum then it mutes.

The same issue happens on my laptop after this 1803 update.

However, on my new Sennheiser headphones the behaviour has changed differently. Adjusting the volume on the headphones built-in volume control, changes the Windows main mixer volume. I can learn to adjust to this change but I would need to be able to control the volume of my Samsung speakers via Windows like before.

My research points to something about a mismatch of Bluetooth profiles. Has anyone had this issue and if so, are there any work arounds or fixes?

Also, I have been in touch with Microsoft support chat a bunch of times (5 or 6 times) and they have tried everything from;

Re-installing drivers

Updating drivers

Installing bad drivers, breaking the BT

some weird registry and other actions I don't know the details about

Hello guys,

I also have a problem with my Edifier R2730DB, however I solved the problem by changing a value from 0 to 1 in the registry.

Follow the steps from this post:

"You should try this fix It worked to me:

Open Windows Registry (regedit.exe).
Jump to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Bluetooth\Audio\AVRCP\CT
Create REG_DWORD DisableAbsoluteVolume and set it's value to 1.

Important: You need to restart your PC for changes to take affect.

well, I had the same volume problem before as this is the topic from this thread.

Now, I change nothing, only enjoy the superb working registry solution, Windows took an automatic update, and now the speaker is no more working as expected..

As all readers in this thread face(d) the same problem before, I am curious about the reply from others.

In fact - the problem looks different - but it was maybe caused by a consequence of making changes...?

Meanwhile I found, using another BT speaker is still working fine. Only my speaker which was connected the whole time is no more working.

Connecting to e.g. phone works fine, so not a speaker hardware problem. And I am not able to delete the speaker from the computer completely, it seems... it still auto connect always but give me no more sound - and after some minutes, the speaker turns to standby, like it is not connected to any device.

Without doing any installation or setup change, it must be caused by windows update.

That's not what this topic is about my friend :). The topic is about being able to control your bluetooth speaker volume . If you have bluetooth connection problems, then you should search for a different topic.

Or verify if the Audio Output is set to your Bluetooth Speaker. You might have changed the settings and forced your laptop speakers to be default all the time (even when a bluetooth speaker is connected to the device). Cheers!

this DID NOT SOLVE the problem.

Mark as not solved.

Until Update yesterday, it worked for me, too.

But since last nights update from MS, I have no more BT Sound.

The device connects, but the sound is still from computer speaker instead BT speaker.

my verison is 1903 build 18362.356
