(error 0x000007d1) on Printer

Hello;

Since I have updated to the new version 1803, my Brother's HL-L2340DW Mono Laser printer will not print, and receive this error code. I have uninstalled this drivers and program 3 time and reinstalled it. It is setup for wireless. It says that the printer is there and working, but no print. It says that it has a invalid driver. So, somewhere in your programming of 1803 version Microsoft had changed something. Because it used to work flawlessly. I don't think this is a Brother's driver problem, but a Microsoft drivers problem. Fix it please! I want my printer to work again. And don't tell me it is a Brother's problem when I know it all started with the version of 1803. This is a screen shot of the error code that I get. I was trying to print a test page.

Thank You

Based on your post on printing, I think that the Microsoft Virtual Agent can help you troubleshoot your issue. It'll walk you through the right troubleshooting steps based on the specific problem you're facing.

Please let us know if this solved your issue.

    No problem :)

It seems that the problem has disapearred for now on my system - very strange.

I haven't had to use the Edge trick after restart for some time now.

I will let you know if the problem comes back though.

    Update on 2020.03.10

The problem is back with the install of KB4540673 March update.

I could not print from Word, Outlook and other programs until I opened the MicrosoftEdge browser and started the first print from within that.

After that all programs could access the printer. Am I the only one with this problem?

    Update on 2020.03.12

Here we go again on the release of KB4551762

Every time Microsoft releases KB updates, it screws up the communication with the printer.

No print access is allowed by any programs, unless you do the first print job using the Microsoft Edge browser. After that printing works??

    Why is this happening Microsoft?

    Update on 2020.03.27

    KB4541335 service pack installed

Problem is back : Solution = print through Microsoft Edge

    Kind Regards

    Madoret

Note that although this has worked for many in the past, some - including myself - do not have this Registry Key and still have the issue. It appears another cause has made this reoccur.

I did this and it fixed the problem.
