(error 0x000007d1) on Printer

Hello;

Since I have updated to the new version 1803, my Brother's HL-L2340DW Mono Laser printer will not print, and receive this error code. I have uninstalled this drivers and program 3 time and reinstalled it. It is setup for wireless. It says that the printer is there and working, but no print. It says that it has a invalid driver. So, somewhere in your programming of 1803 version Microsoft had changed something. Because it used to work flawlessly. I don't think this is a Brother's driver problem, but a Microsoft drivers problem. Fix it please! I want my printer to work again. And don't tell me it is a Brother's problem when I know it all started with the version of 1803. This is a screen shot of the error code that I get. I was trying to print a test page.

Thank You

Based on your post on printing, I think that the Microsoft Virtual Agent can help you troubleshoot your issue. It'll walk you through the right troubleshooting steps based on the specific problem you're facing.

Please let us know if this solved your issue.

    This workaround worked for me. I loaded the driver and support program for a Brother MFC-J6920DW print/fax/scan machine. The scan and fax capability worked but it would not print. I tried everything I could find and was about to give up. Ran across this workaround and figured "what the heck". IT WORKED!

    Thanks for this "workaround," but unfortunately, it didn't work; there wasn't a "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE..." listed as in step 2. Like others who have posted here and elsewhere, since the July 2018 Windows Updates, I have been unable to print any Microsoft Office documents/files /graphics/labels on my HP Color Laser Jet Pro m542dn printer. Documents sent to the printer do not even appear in the queue. The printer is ready and willing, with the latest print driver, and no error codes. Updating drivers, reinstalling the printer, troubleshooting the printer -- none of the "standard" hat tricks work. I do not receive any printer error messages, as with the Brother printer experiences. The one successful attempt to resolve the problem was to set a system restore point to the last June 2018 Windows Update. That worked fine until the July 24 Windows Update. Attempts to once again reset the restore point back to June failed, because the last June Windows Update is no longer listed as a restore point date option. I'm completely stuck. Haven't been able to print/produce anything except e-mail since the last July Windows Update. This is clearly a Windows Update problem, one which needs to be prioritized. How could everything work, as someone else stated, "flawlessly," and then, not. I'm without a viable explanation to clients who are ready to look elsewhere for production. Are there so few Microsoft Office users who print, for this to be an ongoing dilemma since the first July 2018 Windows Update? Is there any way to access the last June 2018 Windows Update as a possible restore point solution? I need to be able to print! Any assistance or real solution would be very appreciated! Thanks!

    Update, 8/1/2018, 3:00 a.m. (PST)

    Hope this isn't premature, and, that it's of some assistance, but with the help of a resource on a different MS post about the printing problem, I am back to printing, as if the problem never existed. Here's the information I received:

    "This printing issue was fixed by Windows Update KB4340917 on July 24th. So just run Windows Update to get up-to-date, and your printing should be fixed."

    Now, if all continues smoothly, might just make up a few delayed deadlines!
