Microsoft license key/IP address scam

I have been receiving multiple calls all day today on my landline with the same scenario...automated woman's voice claiming my license keywas going to be deactivated because my IP address had been compromised & in several countries, too. I was instructed that they needed to change my IP address & to press 1 to be transferred to a support technician. I hung up, but as stated Ive received at least 10/15 calls from the same number. Any advice as to how I put an end to these calls?? 

There really isn't any way to stop these especially now that the number that is calling is your own home phone. But I have had some success by keeping them on the phone asking questions about how bad is this thing you are trying to fix.  I NEVER type the website they are directing me too. I try and keep them on the phone for 20 minutes if I have the time. They usually get mad and start swearing at me and if they do call back as soon as they realize who it is they hang up. It looks like you are calling yourself because the spammers phone system allows them to spoof the number. When I worked with phone systems you could set up the phone system to show whatever number you wanted to show who was calling. I am sure that they have software that can put your number in the calling from. I wish I knew how to stop these calls too, I had 2 calls today within 20 minutes wanting to lower my credit card interest. I like to think that somewhere there is some way or thing that would stop these calls.

I've gotten this same call four times today. Such a waist of time. It appears to be a scam of sorts. Don't trust it.

They had a report on the news a few weeks ago about the national do not call list.  Even though we had registered to not get those calls it does not stop the computerized spam calls.  It stops the legitimate sales calls from actual companies registered with the national database.  The spam calls are generating our phone numbers through the computer.  They just run numbers over and over through their computers and make the random calls.  There is an ap you can get and install on your phone that will intercept these calls and it actually leaves your phone still able to make and receive calls while the ap answers the call.  It will answer and then keep the caller on the line for as long as they will put up with our own computer talking to theirs.  I have not researched it and cant for the life of me remember the name of it.  I will post here if my brain happens to remember.  I get upwards of 10 to 20 calls a day from these dumb computers.  It's so frustrating to be doing something and the phone rings for this stuff.  I dont even answer anymore if I don't know the number.  I do still have to go see who is calling though.  I am expecting a call from a physician referral for my daughter and dont know what number they will be calling from so I answered this one.  It kind of has me worried since I did hit 1 to speak to someone thinking it may have been Microsoft.  As soon as I hit 1 to talk to someone it hung up on me.  Now I'm afraid i may have compromised my own IP address since my phone is connected to our internet and all.  I wish someone would answer us and tell us we are all ok
