Microsoft license key/IP address scam

I just received an automated call telling me my IP address has been compromised my license key, that they will be disconnecting my microsoft account, and the licence will have will have to be changed!!! from phone number 715-423-4755.  A wisconsin phone number (probably auto dialer) Microsoft is based Washington state!

The only way an IP address can be compromised would be if they already had access to my computer through the fire wall. They would need your user name and password for this! the browser IP unless using a VPN doesn't allow access through the firewall. Microsoft does  NOT call you to change licence keys unless you have had an issue and you have spoke to them requesting a call back of some nature!

Microsoft Keys are very personal and come pre registered with a person's hard copy of windows or on the computer they purchased. I know not many people are NOT technicians or software engineers such as myself. I would like to save others the trouble to let them know.

This is a phishing scam DO NOT EVER GIVER YOUR PERSONAL COMPUTER CREDENTIALS TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU!!!

I received two calls just like that today from my own phone number claiming to be Microsoft about my licensing and being compromised from other countries I know it's a scam but I need them to stop calling

This scam is still active.  I just received a call with MY own cell phone number.  The same thing as many people have posted for several months.  I really wanted to press 1 to give them a piece of my mind but ust held the phone to see if anyone came on and they did not.  REALLY SCAMMER'S do you think we are all that stupid.  Ugh!

I just received a phone call on my cell phone, the caller ID was my own phone number. Was curious so I answered it, probably shouldn't have. I don't have a smart phone by the way. The robo voice said it was microsoft, that my windows license key was going to be deactivated because my IP address had been compromised from several different countries and they needed to set up a new IP address for me. I was then transferred to a person. Couldn't understand them so hung up. Is any of my information compromised, also concerned that the caller ID on my cell phone was my cell phone number?

Just received this exact call, so I pressed 1 to see what the scam was about. Listened to one person tell me about my comprised IP and license key. Asked him question about what is the IP address and he responded with characters that sounded like a MAC address only about 10 characters more than are in a MAC.  After about 10 minutes with this guy I was told to hold on and was connected to someone that said he was a Microsoft Certified Professional. He started going through different steps to show me how I was compromised.  He asked me to run MSinfo32 which I did. Then I was told to select System Environment then Windows Error reporting. This brought up a list of errors that have occurred on the system mostly related to windows update. He said that these were actual attempts to get in the system. I asked a bunch a questions to keep him talking and then he ask me to open www.helpmem, at this point I refused and he told me how he can't help me without me doing this. I then told him that this was not gonna happen, which he proceeds to tell me he is MCP and he is really part of Microsoft. I told he that I am also MCP as well as MCSA and had been doing computer support for 25+ years. He argued that he was legit and he was here to help. At this point I told him I was done with him and to move on. Still arguing he was from Microsoft I asked for one last favor to please remove my number from the system as I was tried of this scam. He was very upset that I held him on the phone for 20 minutes, so I told him to have a good day and that I would talk with him again in a few days when they call back.

I have been receiving multiple calls all day today on my landline with the same scenario...automated woman's voice claiming my license keywas going to be deactivated because my IP address had been compromised & in several countries, too. I was instructed that they needed to change my IP address & to press 1 to be transferred to a support technician. I hung up, but as stated Ive received at least 10/15 calls from the same number. Any advice as to how I put an end to these calls??
