Microsoft license key/IP address scam

I too just received a phone call on my land line, ( every 30 minutes or so today) the caller ID was my own phone number beneath a long curious number V0136194000012.   I was curious so I finally answered it.  

The robo voice (Shirley) said it was microsoft, that my windows license key was going to be deactivated in 48 hours because my IP address had been compromised from several different countries and they needed to set up a new IP address for me.  Iwas asked to press 1 to speak to someone.  I was then transferred to a person.   I hung up b/c it sounds like a scam.

The V0136194000012 is a phone number if you take off V013. Their area code is 619. It appears that they are near San Diego, California according to NANPA. (link: https://www.nationalnanpa.com/area_code_maps/display.html?ca) They spoofed their phone number to California. The scammers are usually near Kolkata, India. If you reverse phone lookup the phone number (without V013) on whitepages.com, you will see it is a valid phone number at San Diego, CA. If you go on YouTube and search "tech support scammers" or something like that, you will find many similar stuff that people have experienced. I have watched many videos about that topic for hours and it was very entertaining. They (the scammers) also do the same thing over and over again. I have never received a call from a scammer, so enjoy the moments (when you can) wasting their time and getting them angry because you said that they are scamming or you insult them. Sometimes they start acting childish! Hopefully they won't call you again after what you said to them!  If you can, try to spoof your number to keep annoying them while using a voice changer.

DO NOT PANIC! There are many videos about scammers telling the trollers that their IP is "compromised" and (the trollers) expose them, find their IP and RAT their computer. They are trying to access your computer, (to steal your sensitive information through TeamViewer, GoToAssist etc.) lock you out from your PC (using a program called "syskey") to make you pay more money to theoretically "fix" it. The will tell you a price ranging from $300 to over $1000. It looks that the Caller ID is your phone number, but it really isn't. They spoofed their number to make it look like your phone number so you can't block them. Microsoft would never call you on your phone number. They anyways arent your ISP. Microsoft would also never deactivate your license key if anything happened. Your information is not compromised unless you gave it to them.

I got the same call today multiple times on my land line showing my own number. Super annoying because it keep calling. So after 5 or 6 times I answered, listened to the recorded voice for a few seconds then hung up. Surprise, surprise the phone rings again a little while later with me calling myself again. This time I listened and pressed 1 when it said to and waited the few seconds for a person sounding from India to say I had reached the Miscrosoft Tech Department, which of course we all know it is not, so I asked "What kind of scam is this?" to which I heard "Ay shut up" and she hung up. I have not called myself since. Save yourself the annoyance of repeated endless calls, answer and tell them off, that you know it's a scam because apparently that's enough to make it stop.

I believe that the word you intended to use was "ditto".
