Microsoft license key/IP address scam

I have been receiving the same call all day long today, and yesterday. The number on the caller ID is my number, Someone knows what it is ?

I just received a phone call on my cell phone, the caller ID was my own phone number. Was curious so I answered it, probably shouldn't have. I don't have a smart phone by the way. The robo voice said it was microsoft, that my windows license key was going to be deactivated because my IP address had been compromised from several different countries and they needed to set up a new IP address for me. I was then transferred to a person. Couldn't understand them so hung up. Is any of my information compromised, also concerned that the caller ID on my cell phone was my cell phone number?

Just received this exact call, so I pressed 1 to see what the scam was about. Listened to one person tell me about my comprised IP and license key. Asked him question about what is the IP address and he responded with characters that sounded like a MAC address only about 10 characters more than are in a MAC.  After about 10 minutes with this guy I was told to hold on and was connected to someone that said he was a Microsoft Certified Professional. He started going through different steps to show me how I was compromised.  He asked me to run MSinfo32 which I did. Then I was told to select System Environment then Windows Error reporting. This brought up a list of errors that have occurred on the system mostly related to windows update. He said that these were actual attempts to get in the system. I asked a bunch a questions to keep him talking and then he ask me to open www.helpmem, at this point I refused and he told me how he can't help me without me doing this. I then told him that this was not gonna happen, which he proceeds to tell me he is MCP and he is really part of Microsoft. I told he that I am also MCP as well as MCSA and had been doing computer support for 25+ years. He argued that he was legit and he was here to help. At this point I told him I was done with him and to move on. Still arguing he was from Microsoft I asked for one last favor to please remove my number from the system as I was tried of this scam. He was very upset that I held him on the phone for 20 minutes, so I told him to have a good day and that I would talk with him again in a few days when they call back.

I received two calls just like that today from my own phone number claiming to be Microsoft about my licensing and being compromised from other countries I know it's a scam but I need them to stop calling

This is truly a scam and what they want to do is gain access to your computor remotely. They then block the screen so you can not see what they are doing while they load their program which allows them to remote access your computor any time it is on. They are looking for financial information including passwords, stock accounts, bitcoin accounts, they are extremely knowledgeable on cryptocurrancys and how to access your account and have  the proceeds sent to their accounts. A word of caution, you should not think that because you  close a program you are safe. The only way you know you are safe is when the computer is off. You should make sure you have the latest security software preventing unauthorized remote sessions. Do it now! Dont wait till it is too late. How do I know this, I will tell you, It already happened to me and I pulled the plug on the computer. That is the only real way you know you are safe. They steal passwords so change all of your passwords periodically. If you were scammed and allowed them access, then get a internet safe software and block future remote sessions.

I just received a call five minutes ago on my cell phone. Caller ID matched my home phone landline. Automated woman's voice (the older kind of automated technology, tempo not smooth,) said that my license key was going to be deactivated, because my IP address has been compromised, and in several countries too. I was to hold to speak to someone. I hold for no one when the caller ID is suspicious, as well as when it is in regards to one of my accounts. I can call the company back directly myself and if it's that important or legit, they'll have me on the line that way. (Same with emails. I refuse to click a link in any email, even those I am certain are legit. I'll go type the web address myself, thank you very much, and go to my account and customer service to deal with whatever.) However, Microsoft - you need to be aware this is happening. Obviously to a lot of customers since my experience matches exactly the OP's experience. 

The same thing is happening to me. I got 5 call from the scammer this morning. they won't leave me alone
