Microsoft license key/IP address scam

It is poor taste to point out someone's bad grammar or weaker English skills, not to mention unproductive to a conversation.

I'm certain others understood what Tom meant by "above email", just as I did. People often have a hiccup in their minds thinking "phone call" or "voice mail" and then typing email, or as in this case I think Tom may have meant "post." Either way, we got the gist.

People are chiming in their frustration with this and don't have to ask a question as a reply. Give the guy a break and practice kindness.

I got the same call today multiple times on my land line showing my own number. Super annoying because it keep calling. So after 5 or 6 times I answered, listened to the recorded voice for a few seconds then hung up. Surprise, surprise the phone rings again a little while later with me calling myself again. This time I listened and pressed 1 when it said to and waited the few seconds for a person sounding from India to say I had reached the Miscrosoft Tech Department, which of course we all know it is not, so I asked "What kind of scam is this?" to which I heard "Ay shut up" and she hung up. I have not called myself since. Save yourself the annoyance of repeated endless calls, answer and tell them off, that you know it's a scam because apparently that's enough to make it stop.

I too just received a phone call on my land line, ( every 30 minutes or so today) the caller ID was my own phone number beneath a long curious number V0136194000012.   I was curious so I finally answered it.  

The robo voice (Shirley) said it was microsoft, that my windows license key was going to be deactivated in 48 hours because my IP address had been compromised from several different countries and they needed to set up a new IP address for me.  Iwas asked to press 1 to speak to someone.  I was then transferred to a person.   I hung up b/c it sounds like a scam.

Ooops, accidentally hit the "yes" for "did this solve your problem" and didn't mean to. 

Anyway, I wanted to post again to let people know that every single day since I posted my first reply I have been receiving this same call anywhere from 8-22 times a day, and I'm not exaggerating. Even on Sundays. It's ruthless and disturbing to be so harangued like this. I never answer anymore and decline the calls, but it gets annoying and interrupts too much. The one day when it was 22 times, and a few every five minutes, was absolutely exacerbating. 

All of them are the same call with caller ID hacked to show my home phone number and the few times I answered just to listen to the computerized voice recording it was always about my Microsoft license expiring and please hold because it was urgent.

Any response to this, Microsoft?

I just received a call five minutes ago on my cell phone. Caller ID matched my home phone landline. Automated woman's voice (the older kind of automated technology, tempo not smooth,) said that my license key was going to be deactivated, because my IP address has been compromised, and in several countries too. I was to hold to speak to someone. I hold for no one when the caller ID is suspicious, as well as when it is in regards to one of my accounts. I can call the company back directly myself and if it's that important or legit, they'll have me on the line that way. (Same with emails. I refuse to click a link in any email, even those I am certain are legit. I'll go type the web address myself, thank you very much, and go to my account and customer service to deal with whatever.) However, Microsoft - you need to be aware this is happening. Obviously to a lot of customers since my experience matches exactly the OP's experience.

I don't see a reply even if 2 people were helped by this reply? Show me. I been a Microsoft customer since 1983/84, somewhere in there, and have never had a call/e-mail/text, what ever and know this has to be a scam of some kind. How ever, so me the reply that helped 2 people.
