"Up to date" even though I am running version 1507 (RTM build of Windows 10); how to get 1803 (Redstone 4)?

Well without any real help from anyone, I managed to get a legitimately genuine version of Windows 10 installed on my computer... but it is from a DVD so I am running the first released version of the operating system, and I am trying to update to the latest release. When I run Windows Update, I used to see "Feature Update to 1803" as an available update, but now I don't see it at all and I know for a fact that I am still running Threshold instead of Redstone.

    ... uh, yes? I did use the MCT as asked to get the latest install media for Windows 10 Professional, version 1803, build 17134. Of course, something could have gone wrong during the file transfer process. How am I supposed to know that, however?

    Yes, I am able to select the flashdisk I used as a bootable UEFI system process (the MoBo itself came pre-installed with Windows 8 and therefore uses a UEFI pre-initialization environment by default), and I have (otherwise not) been successful in launching setup (from which I did completely wipe the harddisk drive and set up the new partitions I wanted, including a 100 GB Windows partition and three mandatory system-reserved partitions) and copying files. After this, it is supposed to then restart to the harddisk drive UEFI partition, this is where the computer starts having issues with getting Windows loaded.

    Download Windows 10 -  currently, this is version 1803

    Match it to your Edition (Pro, Home, etc.), Language, & Architecture (x64/64-bit or x86/32-bit), as the article says.

    (2)  Did you boot to BIOS Setup & set it for UEFI, if you've got that...?...

    Get access to BIOS settings & Boot Menu: F-keys/Hotkeys by System Manufacturer (OEM)

    (3) Then plug in the USB Installation media & boot to it through the BIOS Boot Menu & select the UEFI option, if offered?

    (4) Did you delete all the partitions at the "Choose a partition" screen, until only allocated space remained, select the unallocated space, & click "Next"?

    ... whereas when I went back to the official RTM DVD-ROM, the setup went through without any problems.

    Well I am trying to do a clean install and after it copies Windows 10 files from our USB flashdisk, it restarts a couple of times and then tells me that initialization is unsuccessful.

    Good idea. A clean install might be the answer, as it starts fresh with the device drivers. Nothing has to be migrated from the old to the new version. Good luck, I'm anxious to hear the result. There are a number of URls to look at, here's one...
