Lumia 950XL - Project My Screen not working after Win10 1803 Update - Black Screen

I use my 950XL extensively for demos of my company's software because it's much better display than my iPhone and doesn't need additional apps to do it.

I updated my Win10 desktop today to 1803 and also my phone updated to .104 and the app no longer works.

When I open the app I get the message on the phone to ask if I want to share and I agree. The display on the desktop is black, but I can actually start applications on the phone by clicking inside the black window, so there obviously is a connection, just no display.

I was working perfectly, but not now.

As a workaround, is it possible to use continuum? I'm sure there used to be an option to display the phone's screen rather than a full desktop to the connected display but that appears to be no longer available

    The sentence "hardware wasn't specifically designed for wireless projection" was present even before 1803.

    OK.  Thanks for that.  Now I won't feel so alone.   One guess would be that it could just represent a timing problem with the initialization sequence but without source or documentation or diagnostics or something to compare it to who knows?

    Then it is reasonable to explore the Connect app case, e.g. see if there is a significant difference between what you see with it on 1709 and 1803.  

    Sorry I can not help on this :  all my 3 PC's have been upgraded to 1803. I cannot go back .... nor I would even if I could....

    Then it is reasonable to explore the Connect app case, e.g. see if there is a significant difference between what you see with it on 1709 and 1803.   That is the scenario which is more likely to be supported.  I mentioned to Chris in the other thread I get at most an eerie effect from having the PmS app running with its USB link present when I experiment with the Connect app.  I think an advantage it may have provided is letting me get more familiar with the UI for getting a connection going and exploring all the possible workarounds less painfully.  That's the sort of inconsistency and uncertainty that the "hardware wasn't specifically designed for wireless projection" message would be intended to prepare you for.

    I see the same data as yours in that folder.

    I've tried compatibility troubleshooter on  ProjectMyScreen.exe. 

    It suggested to run the program in Win 7 compatibility : I did that at no avail.

    Answering NO to the troubleshooter question if this solved the problem, troubleshooter then suggested to run with scaled down DPI: same result.

    And, yes , I can cast multimedia stuff to my smart TV, via WI-FI,  without problems .
