I'm also getting these calls very annoying I always suspected it was a scam mainly because how could they refund me for something I never paid for I just decided to Google online to see if anyone else was getting such calls or if there was something about this and I found this This so sad because it will be the elderly that will fall for this breaks my heart
Microsoft Refund Dept.
I also received a call from "Microsoft Refund Dept.". Since I didn't pick up they left a computer generated message stating her name as Kathy Jackson from tech support and to call 877 721 7434. for my refund. The reason I am posting this is I wanted to see if anyone else received such messages. Imagine my surprise when I realized the first comment about this subject was posted 2013!!! That was five years ago. Five years of people being scammed, losing money and whatever else. How could this still be happening without them being stopped? And the first one I saw was from the Netherlands, meaning this is an international scam. AND it was on this site. Doesn't anyone at Microsoft oversee their own site?

I am still receiving these calls and every time I report them. I believe if everyone reports them, it will show how prolific these scammers are. I implore everyone to do the same. This is the site that should be used https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

2018-11-05T13:36:28+00:00 I received a call on my cell, saying that Microsoft is closing and that I have a refund due me. The person said that he was from the refund dept. He wanted to give me a website to go too, so that I can get a refund. They have also called my home twice and left a number that I can call to get the refund. The person was very forceful and adamant about giving that website (which I could not understand, because of his English). Thanks goodness I couldn't, so after a few minutes of not understanding him. I told the person to keep the refund and hung up the phone. So, people do not fall for this scam, it sounds inviting, but just another trick to get into your finance.

2018-11-09T07:57:45+00:00 I to received a called on Wednesday they called from two numbers 1125458458 and they called me from a 1-866-5664985 he sounds like he was India he claimed he was from "Microsoft Refund Dept." his name was Harry Thomas from tech support he claims I was getting back 499.99 as my refund. He opens up some program called TeamViewer 11 then went to any-Desk then he asked me if I had a checking account which I told him no. Then he had me to click yes for unattended Access he even fix my computer for free. I am glad you posted because these scammers are everywhere someone needs to put a stop to this and fast. They are talking about they are moving somewhere to another country how can Microsoft stop these people? They need to have a monitor on this site.
