Microsoft Refund Dept.

You got that right.im waiting on microsoft to contact me back now.has anyone on here got a response from microsoft yet?I'll keep you informed if I ever get a response.

The exact same thing happened to me last night. However, I did got to my computer and he had me click on Ctrl and the Windows key. Then he had me type www.supre..... (a bunch of letters that didn't spell out a website or make any sense). I finally got frustrated and hung up.

Is there anything I need to worry about? Could he have possible gotten any personal information from me that I wouldn't want him to have?

The number they are calling from now is 888-406-5783

its a recording Stating to call that number back regarding a Microsoft technical support refund. So I called the number, which is an Indian guy who is watching a TV in the background because it is very loud who asked me why I was calling so I explained the automated call that I received and he said that I had paid for Microsoft technical support before and now the company is going out of business and they’re offering refunds to the customers.  So I proceeded to ask  how much did I pay for this technical support? He responded “$299.99”. I told him there’s no way I would pay $300 for technical support and asked when did I pay for this ? He said  as he began to get aggravated , “OH MY GOSH, let me look”.  And then said “2016 on November 30 which was a Wednesday. “  as I left a little bit, I proceeded to ask him for what computer that I purchased the technical support, and he said for my HP as I really began to laugh I told  ham I don’t have an HP  (which i really do)  so then he said OK do you have a Dell, nope I sure don’t.  He then began mumbling, thank you for your time and then he hung up. This is such a scam but Microsoft needs to be aware of that because I’m sure they’re wanting or trying to get bank information so that they will be able to give you this fake refund and to say that their company is going out of business..... Microsoft is going out of business? That’s the funniest  thing I’ve heard and this right here is the reason it has SCAM written ALL OVER IT!!!

What they are”claiming” to be is Microsoft technical support, even though you have a dell that was purchased from HSN, it has an operating system on it, which is most likely Windows, which is Microsoft Windows. Just thought I’d explain that to you. But you  are right these calls are horrible because some people end up losing money and they think they’re getting a refund. If it sounds too goodto be true, IT IS AND SAYS SCAM!!!  I know I’ve never paid $300 for technical support from anybody so that right there is a big red flag for me and the fact he couldn’t tell me what computer it was for instead started naming different ones to see if I had one of those I just said no to all of them .  And the fact that he told mr that he was with Microsoft technical support and that they are going out of business...... OK Microsoft is going out of business?? he sounds like a smart one .  Funny thing is they think that they have such a good scam going but they have the dumbest people making  these phone calls and trying to convince people that Microsoft is going out of business and not to mention he had the loudest TV going in the background with some kung fu fighting stuff on that sometimes I could barely hear him.

They just called me for the SIXTH time, YES 6TH TIME today so again I for the second time, I called the number back but this time I recorded or made a video that shows the phone number and the whole conversation. He now claims that they are required to issue these refunds due to the federal trade commission and the Better Business Bureau because Microsoft technical support is going out of business. So just like earlier asked him when it was I purchase this technical support and he says a couple years ago and like the conversation earlier today where they gave me a specific date of November 30, 2016  and stated that was a Wednesday. When I asked him what computer it was purchased for his sighs ir huffs really loud and says it was for Microsoft. I told him I do understand that it is Microsoft windows but for what computer??? I could tell he was aggravated because he sighed even louder and then hung up. like I said, I think they’re so smart with the scam but they do not have the smartest people handling these calls or the nicest either. But what I gathered from the call is there not wanting your credit card or bank information to give you the refund what they want is access to your computer. Because he said that within a couple minutes once he explained everything I would need to open up my computer to let him into it issued the refund. So they are getting smart now we’re before they were wanting payment information or issued a refund  but like most people your card and bank account is saved  is most likely saved on your computer  or device you use the most. So giving them access to your computer gives them access to so much more and if  Most are like me, you’re practically giving them the keys to your life if you have everything saved on your device. We all know that it’s not very safe to store everything on your phone so a lot of people are resorting back to Computers as it’s not as easy to lose or break.
