Microsoft Refund Dept.

I also received a call from "Microsoft Refund Dept.". Since I didn't pick up they left a computer generated message stating her name as Kathy Jackson from tech support and to call 877 721  7434. for my refund. The reason I am posting this is I wanted to see if anyone else received such messages. Imagine my surprise when I realized the first comment about this subject was posted 2013!!! That was five years ago. Five years of people being scammed, losing money and whatever else. How could this still be happening without them being stopped? And the first one I saw was from the Netherlands, meaning this is an international scam.  AND it was on this site. Doesn't anyone at Microsoft oversee their own site?

I am glad you didn't get caught up in this. I guess we should listen to our kids more often.

Scam still going on. They called me and left a message saying I was owed a refund of $299 (the same price I paid for my son's Xbox at Christmas). the website they wanted me to go to is WWW.refund48.webs.com

    Phone number was 833-228-1850

    It was clearly a scam.

I reported it to Microsoft, they told me to report it to the police. The police do nothing because it's outside their jurisdiction.

I've had several calls in the last few days; I understand that this has been going on for years, so I presume MS doesn't really care or they would be pressing the case with appropriate authorities.

Now I just disconnect without any further interaction.

    Shame on Microsoft ...
