I really don't understand why this has not been stopped! I guess the PTB can't make a profit finding a fix for this, so don't put the effort to stop it. What a shame. I'd bet if everyone boycotted, in this instance, Microsoft, there would be fix within a month.
Microsoft Refund Dept.
I also received a call from "Microsoft Refund Dept.". Since I didn't pick up they left a computer generated message stating her name as Kathy Jackson from tech support and to call 877 721 7434. for my refund. The reason I am posting this is I wanted to see if anyone else received such messages. Imagine my surprise when I realized the first comment about this subject was posted 2013!!! That was five years ago. Five years of people being scammed, losing money and whatever else. How could this still be happening without them being stopped? And the first one I saw was from the Netherlands, meaning this is an international scam. AND it was on this site. Doesn't anyone at Microsoft oversee their own site?

2019-02-05T02:18:12+00:00 My mother received the same phone call. She had me take the phone and call the number back. The guy said the same thing as other people experienced we owe you $299 and are u sitting in front of your computer. I followed the steps not really knowing anything until i was watching him remote access my computer and opening these websites and my moms td bank account. He insisted she open an online bank account to transfer the money. I said why dont u send a check or deposit this so called refund into my account. He kept saying his billing dept supervisor said it has to be done through td bc ur bank account is a local bank. I finally got pissed off and told him to shove this so called money up his f***king ass and bite my tiities and that i was calling the better business bureau. Afther the phone call i was afraid that my laptop would still get remote accessed so i did a factory reset on it. I mean i didnt have a lot of stuff on the hard drive but id rather be safe than sorry so word of advice to people dont listen to this people

2019-02-02T01:01:50+00:00 I also have been recieving phone calls stating I had a refund. I was unsure if this was actually Microsoft due to I did call regarding a charge that I did not make.
But I arrived to work today and when I answered the company phone there was a recording saying do not hang up this is Microsoft and we are closing the doors and and want to start your refund and left a phone number.
