Microsoft Refund Dept.

I also received a call from "Microsoft Refund Dept.". Since I didn't pick up they left a computer generated message stating her name as Kathy Jackson from tech support and to call 877 721  7434. for my refund. The reason I am posting this is I wanted to see if anyone else received such messages. Imagine my surprise when I realized the first comment about this subject was posted 2013!!! That was five years ago. Five years of people being scammed, losing money and whatever else. How could this still be happening without them being stopped? And the first one I saw was from the Netherlands, meaning this is an international scam.  AND it was on this site. Doesn't anyone at Microsoft oversee their own site?

I did not answer the call when he first called. . When I called back an Indian man did not answer the phone as Microsoft or identify himself. I just received a call again from the same Indian man wanting me to hold down the control and flag key on my computer for him to refund me money from Microsoft. I told him it was a scam. He shouted that it was not. I hung up the  phone.

I was left a message from the number 1(866)881-7092

It was a computer generated call statiing it was from Mirocsoft Refund Department.

My refund has been initiated for $299.99. Kindly call our refund department at the same number.

When I called, the man answered...Yeah, who do you want to speak to? Threw me off. So I asked who I was speaking to he said Robert Brown and who was I looking for. Told him “No clue Robert Brown, you called me and was returning the call.”

His attuded changed and when I asked what company was I speaking to he said Microsoft. I asked for another number for them, cause I did not believe him and her gave me, 1(808)400-5176. Yep, I called and Mr. Brown answered the phone with...Microsoft Refund Department how may I help you.

    SCAM!!!

Microsoft really needs to send out a email about these. I imagine people fall for this and get ripped off all the time. Sad.

Today i received the same exact call. I called back and talked with an Indian male who claimed his name was Robert Brown. He did not know what type of computer it was; the computer that is being discontinued is a dell i bought from HSN and a complete service package. Dell is not Microsoft. HSN has its own computer service and warranty. If that isnt it it most be an apple device as that is all i have.

so this is a scam?! Why dont they do something about this? This is their phone number: 8889196138. I will contact the BBB. Anyone have any recommandations? I am very suspicious of these types of calls but many are not. I would hate to hear someone got took when i could have prevented it dome how.
