My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK
Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).
In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible
Access is denied. -OK
Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.
I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Open Windows File Explorer
On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'
C:\users\Default\
Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder
Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile
Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder
Restart (not shut sown) your PC
Late response, but I'm getting those same popups as of late, all caused by the windows updates. The first time it popped up was maybe a week ago, I solved the problem by going into my settings and verifying my Microsoft account. After doing that and restarting, my files were back and everything was normal.
I got the exact same thing again this morning, but this time I clicked the "actions reccomended" icon in the bottom right corner. It had me click "reset your security processor to fix functionality issues" under the "device security" section. This made my computer restart and now my files are all back and normal again.
Even after this though, I still have the "actions reccomended" exclamation point marking the device security, as if I still need to reset my security processor despite having literally just clicked and gone through that. I'm getting super uneasy about it and am worried that one day I'll get those popups again but won't find a fix for it.
I have a hp notebook and a permanent solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated. I plan on buying a new laptop as soon as I can, god forbid this same thing happens to the new one as well.
Once logged in and looking at the black screen.
Press control+alt+delete.
Select Task manager
Tab over to "details" tab.
Locate exploer.exe
Right click and select open file location.
If it wont let you. Select end task instead. Restart. And repeat all steps. It should let you open explorer this time.
Then follow the previous guys instructions!
Final note: its only halfway fixed. Still glitches and tells me unknown hard error.
Yes this works , thanks . My error messages were "C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Onedrive\Documents is unavailable.If the location is ...."
Additional messages noted with Word -mso1033.acl error , unable to save file ,
Excel messages noted "microsoft excel cannot open or save any more documents because there is not enough available memory..........."
For what its worth - also observed that
all of a sudden right click did not pop up the menu including shut down or sign out .
my screen fonts were not he usual sharp ones - seemed dotted
Unfortunately the revised installation does not work. After 30% of download installed the installation ceases.
Having taken a week trying to resolve this and getting nowhere a complete recovery was the only action open to me. This I have done and I am now re-installing all of my lost programmes and data, BUT I AM NOW SEEING PROGRESS NOT JUST WASTING TIME. Thank you Microsoft for nothing.
