My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK
Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).
In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible
Access is denied. -OK
Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.
I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Open Windows File Explorer
On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'
C:\users\Default\
Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder
Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile
Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder
Restart (not shut sown) your PC
I have the same issue but i cant open the windows file explorer
Restart your PC. When you get to the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down while you select Power
> Restart
When the PC reboots choose Troubleshoot, then Advanced Options, Go back to previous version, choose an account to continue, enter password, Go back to previous build.
Well i can just recap that I could NOT resolve the issue. Tried several installs of the 1809 update, keeping apps and settings, keeping settings only, always same result. I ended up in dark screen only being able to use mouse.......
In the end I did bite the bullet, and did a install without keeping anything, that worked. Thanks for nothing Microsoft, this has once again cemented me as a MacOS user. With all the flaws of the Apple close ecosystem taken into account I have NEVER experienced issues nearly like this. I have often like this attempt troubleshooted for my father. I have a Macbook pro that now runs on year 5, I have newer had a software issue no where near this. The same goes for all the Mac users i know. Windows ecosystem, this seems to be just something to live with. In my view there is just no competition, compared to MacOS windows is still super flaky.
Thanks for the help from the forum though, interesting that there is not input from MS staff, says even more.

Hey Dave, so im having the exact same issue as Thirut with the system32 error after a update. However when i attempt to check “hidden” It just closes that bar. Im incapable of clicking or right clicking anything. What else can i possibly do to address this issue?
