After update of my windows 10 I got problem Desktop is unavailable

My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK

Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network). 

In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is 

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible 

Access is denied. -OK

Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.

I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Hi Thirut,

Open Windows File Explorer

On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'

C:\users\Default\

Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder

Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile

Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder

Restart (not shut sown) your PC

    I just yesterday (11/18/2018) performed a windows update on my Asus laptop - never had issues except an occasional failed update.  Last successful one was July.

    Yesterday's update appeared fine - took forever to download (PC is wifi only and no disk drive) and got to "Install complete" status, and prompted to restart.  All looked fine - got the "Hi" message and please wait, we'll take care of you" and all that crap.  Got to my login screen and it looked normal EXCEPT it requested my MS password, not my PIN.  Then I noticed no network at bottom left.  Entered password, waited another forever, and then got the "desktop is unavailable..." error message.  I was able to get into Task Manager and saw that somehow there is a problem with y network adapter driver that didn't exist 2 hours prior.  I cant believe MS is so inept at QA/QC on universal forced updates.  I'm so pissed I could spit. 

    I'm going to try the manual patch method, but only have 4 G USBs with me.  I'll probably have to wait until after Thanksgiving weekend before making a real effort.  I'm really starting to see the appeal to an Apple.

    You'll have to extract the files from the iso file first (that's what YouSir meant when he wrote "Extract all files from the patch onto a thumb drive") - the iso is like a zip file.  The file setup.exe will be there once you unzip it.

    I posted the solution that worked for me below, but it's buried now with people that reinstalled windows and called it a solution.

    Basically this is a failed patch install. The solution I found was to reinstall the newest Windows patch over the top, and it fixed everything and I was back to before the issue happened.

    1. Download latest Windows full patch, right now I believe 1803 or 1809, which will be a .ISO file.

    2.Extract all files from the patch onto a thumb drive. All this must be done on another computer.

    3.On defective computer, hit CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up task manager. You may have to click "more options" to see menu.

    4.Under File menu, top left, click "run new task", and "browse". This is the only way I was able to access my file system.

    5.Find your thumb drive with extracted Windows patch, and run the Setup file. This will kick off the patch like normal.

    After reboot you will be good to go. This has worked for 2 computers now for me, so I think it's the fix.

    If this works for you, please give feedback so it doesn't get buried again. Waste to see so many struggle still.

    Still having issue.  Downloaded file, transferred onto flash drive, opened up Task Manager on affected Laptop, browsed and found the .iso file  I couldn't expand the file any further to identify a setup file so clicked on the "Win10_1809Oct_English_x64.iso" it didn't appear to do anything besides highlighting the "Open" button again.  I clicked again but again nothing.

    Thanks.  I've downloaded the file and everything seemed to be going ok but when double clicking on the file when on the thumb drive on the affected laptop there is no setup file.

    Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

    Any help much much appreciated.
