I am unable to install The Windows 10 Feature update to OS version 1803(from version 1709) on my PC.
It is giving 0xc1900101 error. I have all the latest drivers on my PC. The current OS build of my PC is 16299.371.
After each failure, the update gets downloaded again and it has failed 5 times.
I would be grateful if someone could please help.

You are so correct about the boot problems. Some machines will, others will not, some get to the oobe screen and you can't get past there. oops, something went wrong, try again or skip. you can skip up until you get to accounts, then, well, game over. Fix it Microsoft, or don't release the thing running on one cylinder. Get ur done.
Microsoft, since the beginning, has been a very shaky platform. Just think back a few years when windows 95 came out. what a nightmare. They keep moving on but the problems persist. Every time I have a stable system, they come along and screw it up again. Lately, I have been spending more time fixing the system than actually doing any work. Thank God I did not buy this crap.
Yeah probably something cryptic you'll need to do to get even the latest 1809 update to install. Finally, got it to install on my older PC by disabling all virtualization options in the bios. At least for owners of PC's with Intel audio latest version is blocked from installing so it won't brick your PC. Seems to be only notable change. But like I said before if it's failing to install properly probably best to block it from trying to update your PC cuz it's probably just going to hose up or brick your PC DOH!

Well Microsoft continue to put out failed Operating System updates. Version 1809 has just been released (with additional bugs looking at the latest complaints) and guess what - they still haven't fixed what was causing failures previously. 1803 doesn't install and 1809 does the EXACT same thing with EXACT same error.
Microsoft whatever you have done to the most basic of boot processes is WRONG.
If I went out and bought Windows 10 with update 1803 or 1809 on a USB or DVD and attempted to install - it wouldn't.
It does not even get past the initial boot phase to even present the option to select region and keyboard settings. Just sits there like the piece of crap software it is proving to be with the pathetic blue Microsoft logo and nothing else.
Your pre-boot environment is FLAWED from Update 1803 onwards. Whatever change you made from 1709 to 1803 in the pre-boot (Supposed "SAFE" OS phase) is flawed.
So if 1803 didn't install for you - don't even waste your precious time with the failure that is 1809.
I don't have any power saving settings turned on.. it's a tower PC and is on performance mode. Will try the troubleshooter again.
