Windows 10 missing first keystrokes from Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard after Fall Creators' Update

After updating to the Fall Creators' Update, Windows misses the first several keystrokes from my Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard. This occurs when after rebooting, first logging in or simply after the keyboard has been idle for a bit.  The problem happens not only in Windows, but in all applications, too.

I have replaced the keyboard batteries and the problem persists.

I have tried another identical keyboard and the problem persists with that keyboard, too.

I have checked for driver updates, but Device Manager indicates that I have the latest drivers.

The problem did not happen before updating to the Fall Creators' Update.

    I've had 2 of these keyboards and the problem happens in windows with each.  Some reports suggest it is related to the power management but the suggested methods to enable you to turn off power management no longer appear to work.  Furthermore, I don't think Microsoft is interested in fixing it so at this point I think there's enough people affected by this in the several forums I've read + I'm sure there's at least several thousand more to get a lawsuit going against Microsoft for this.

    What do ya say MS?  Fix the issue ASAP or should we get a lawsuit going?

    Only happens in Edge for me on my Desktop aps, no other Browser. I do use a PS2 keyboard which I like, but also happens with a USB keyboard. At least for me this is an Edge bug. No recent updates have fixed this thru 9/2018.

    I use two wireless Microsoft Sculpt keyboards. One attached to my Dell P5520 notebook, the other one attached to my Dell P3420 desktop.

    I solved the problem on my desktop: uninstall the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center (you don't need it unless you attach another keyboard) and remove all keyboard and mouse drivers in the Device Manager except de "HID Keyboard Device" and the "HID-complaint mouse". That solved the problem on my desktop.

    On my notebook I tried the same. But after restarting the notebook the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" driver and the "PS/2 Compatible Mouse" reappear. These device drivers are required for the internal keyboard and mousepad of the notebook. The problem still exists on my notebook.

    My conclusion is that the missing keystrokes of the sculpt keyboard are caused by the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" device.

    I hope Microsoft will soon repair this issue!

    I have the same problem -- first keystroke missing.

    I use wireless Microsoft Sculpt keyboard system (KB, Mouse, Numpad) with new Dell Precision 5520 and win10 Enterprise.

    I have one-each system in 3 locations -- same problem.

    I'm not sure if this is a mesh issue.  I feel this is MS way of trying to extend the battery life of these devices to please consumers.  Unfortunately they have created another problem and one I feel is more pressing then battery life.  If you are worried about battery life, switch to USB devices.  Batteries are cheap enough.
