How permanently stop windows 10 force updates

The only way to stop the updates is to disconnect from the Internet so the system can't receive them (this makes Windows 10 work the same as iPad, iPhone, tablets, Xbox, PlayStation, and other consumer electronic devices).  This is why Windows 10 is a continuous service, not a one-time product.  If you don't agree to the updates, you actually aren't legally allowed to use the system. You don't own Windows, you license the temporary restricted rights to use it. Those are the license terms of contract, and updates are required.  Your only alternative is to use another product instead.

Windows is so **** that it won't even let me choose when i can update. I just got an update which only gave me 30 minutes to save everything so it can restart itself and update. 

 And now, at the moment I have a audio render going on and it usually takes a lot longer sometimes even hours to do so. 

What kind of stupid assumption is that? As if all works can be finished and wrapped up within 30 minutes. Its not like i can possibly speed up the processing and make it render faster. 

My work is based on audio and DAWs and the last time i updated windows 10 i coudnt even run my Digital Audio Workstation, let alone create any music in it.

Something in the update messed up my DAW. In fact, the update was so bad that my buisiness got delayed by an entire day because i had to figure out how to go back a version and reinstall the older build.

What i dont understand is to why windows wont just give an option to do it once a year or something and just keep forcing it down our throats.. it doesnt even feel like they're helping me with these updates. It feels more like being at gunpoint and forcefully updating itself whether you like it or not. I guess i'll just move on to apple products now because i am almost done with windows!

Microsoft have become such arrogant jerks that they no longer allow you to control your own computer. 

Forced updates are just plain hostile and more like malware than a "service". 

In my case, I run two w10 machines that works as TV Production switchers for live streaming, meaning they run 24 Hrs a day.

As the bandwidth availability is limited in my country, sharing the connection with BITS/Wuauserv it's unacceptable, and DISK I/O must be completely dedicated to the video switches to avoid any frame loss due to high I/O times.

Unfortunately the software I use for this task (vMix) only runs on W10, if there was a linux version I would have windows 10 completely wiped out of the PC's

I don't need any updates or patches, just need the PC's to keep running uniniterrupted.

I Have tried deleting tasks, disabling services, delete WU files is my next option

More sadness...

I have another computer, a high performance laptop to do live streaming on the road, and  you don't know how many time I have lost and how many anger and problems it has created to my productions.

Windows update is not a feature, is a F**** virus!

I'm in this situation, I lost my data because of the FORCED updates !!!, it's been a long time since I shifted the updates, but Microsoft forced the update on my computer, and the result is that my pc does not work anymore, I have to try everything, reinstallation, reboot ... nothing works, I lost all my data thanks to Microsoft and I am in exam period I can not do my duty what a loss !! ... I hate Microsoft with their new way of managing it sucks. I think it's time to switch to OS or Linux

Thanx for this quick fact, got to the heart of one of our issues.  I've been using the Internet since it was "invented" and i'm sure you'd agree, it is nearly impossible to find verifiable/reliable direction.  So how can we work through problems like ours, which i'm about to relate.

An update ran late the other night (July 3 early AM) and the update deleted the physical directory of the "Documents" folder, it uninstalled a software app!?  (Photoshop Elements .. it's done this once before) and other things like the PIN was disabled again after the update (also happened before). We have 2 Microsoft Support Tech's doing remote desktop, possibly not fully understanding what they were trying to explain.  We know how to point the Documents to a recreated directory... the question is: why did it delete?  That's a risk, improper behaviour and we want to understand before *more* updates run  (updates we are not allowed to disable, according to licensing).  The techs didn't even get near the issue about deleted software, i had to pull the plug after 1+ hours fishing around remote desktop.

For example, the tech looked in the Update History.  There was a "failure" message.  She didn't seem to comprehend that?  Near the end of our chat, she asked 'was i sure the system was up to date, because we are only on 1709 but we should be at Windows 10, version 1803.   Well, we're not on 1803 because the Update History very plainly states that on July 3 2018, it was the 'last failed install attempt' for Windows 10, version 1803.

So my question of desparation:  I am not allowed to disable or prevent updates from running.  I accept that.  But if the Support Department of the product cannot support the product, what next?  When you say "We can help you solve any problem..." who is "WE"?  How can we be sure we are talking to "WE" next time?

Microsoft completely reinstal Windows over the top of the current system twice a year for a billion users whether they want these "upgrades" or not. What could possibly go wrong?

This latest V1803 is the buggiest yet that I've come across. Even something as basic File Explorer can't be relied on.
