In addition to reporting the fake pop-ups themselves I would advise that you take note if there is a significant loss of performance on computer after encountering, in particular, the fake Adobe Flash Player update. If things seem sluggish you may have been subject to one of the more prevalent malicious activities known as crypto-mining/coin mining.

    Greg was the one asking me to post here if I saw any new virus popping up on MSN News starting page so MS technicians and supporters can see; however, whatever you suggested is fine to me.  

    Hi Mindy. You're right in that respect but here's a challenge for you! Create your own new thread in V&M via the Participate command on the blue border above and see how quickly the experts here will respond!! ;o)

    I suggest that you create a new thread in the Virus & Malware forum. V&M is the place to go get help for specific problems - yours seems to be a common one. Try it and you'll probably get an answer within hours.

    Same for many others who have posted here and haven't had a specific reply eg VitoPC and CharlesRake1.

    (Gregin Mich is working very hard pushing Microsoft to get their act together on the general problem of nasties coming via News Reports.)
