In addition to reporting the fake pop-ups themselves I would advise that you take note if there is a significant loss of performance on computer after encountering, in particular, the fake Adobe Flash Player update. If things seem sluggish you may have been subject to one of the more prevalent malicious activities known as crypto-mining/coin mining.

    Er...thanks for the trip down Memory Lane.

    Did you have something to add to the conversation?

    Because I do. In addition to installing a good adblocker to prevent these malicious popups you should make sure you keep them regularly updated (just as you do your antivirus software)

    (Mine but use any adblocker you wish).

    And, of course, don't forget the Ransomware Protection that has been updated in Windows 10 Version 1803 Build  17134.191 and have that set as well as you can.

    Of course, that involves the hassles of allowing each and every driver of each and every program you want through your Firewall which means you have to hunt the thing up in Programs or Programsx86 but hey, it beats getting your computer nuked.

    Just click on that thing I have circled below and adjust your settings to best suit your needs:

    Yes, it can be a hassle. But then, again, think how long it took Bruce Lee to learn self-defense.

    A decent adblocker prevents this from showing up.

    I use the free Adblocker Ultimate from the Microsoft Store.

    hi hope you can fix it as my defender shut down said I needed upgrade I tried but couldn't nor could I access micro soft through it my chrome has shut down too I have just finished my system recovery and taken it back months but something has hold of my pcs security and operations and I need help badly I am not savvy and I really don't like having no real security

    I was asked to use go to assist and let remote control of my computer was told that foreign countries Russia and Korea were trying to access my banking info through a tiny trojan virus wanted $99 dollars and another $299 for firewall protection claiming to be from microsft was this real
