My computer wouldn't start and entered into an Automatic Repair. The automatic repair "couldnt repair [my]PC".

It specifies the following Log file: E:\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

*Modified title for accuracy*

*Original title: Automatic Repair Error SrtTrail.txt*

Hi Steven,

This error occurs due to a possible corrupted startup file. For us to troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

  1. Restart your computer for 3 times to see Windows 10 Boot Options menu.
  2. Choose Troubleshoot.

3. Click on Advanced Options.

4. Select Command Prompt. 5. When Command Prompt appears, enter the following command lines and press Enterafter each: - bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd - bootrec.exe /fixmbr - bootrec.exe /fixboot 6. Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Let us know how it goes.

After i type bootrec.exe /fixboot, it says acces is denied. You dont specify what to do if this happens or what it means.

I am finding the same issues that i cannot start up laptop as it is saying PC ran into a problem and needs to restart stating CRITICAL PROCESS DIED. Automatic repair cannot fix die to logfiles\srt\srttrail. I have tried all advise and get success all the way through to bootrec.exe\fixboot which says denied. It won't even allow me to reset my laptop  to before last critical update. In desperation I even attempted to reset, but i could not do that either. I am working on my masters and all my information is on that laptop. I see when reading posts that microsoft has no solutions. This is unacceptable and I need this resolved now.
