Windows 10 100 Percent Disk Usage Problem

I also have the same issue with many pcs on our network. Tried everything with no change. Microsoft needs to address this and solve it. It is rediculous.

I am one of the victims too, have been trying different things. Today I came across Microsoft Office Click to run service,  I stopped and disabled this service, Have been monitoring my disk activity , it is staying between 1 to 18 percent now, I ran many office apps soon after, the above service started again but amazingly Disk is relaxing now.

Check this trick guys, I don't have any justification for this service causing this problem but there is no harm trying..

Well, this is partly to be expected after an update, especially if is a big one (not sure that's the case here,) which is basically a full reinstall of the whole Windows system. If it lasts for more than a few hours after the update though, something is wrong with Windows or Microsoft.

But it's still not acceptable to me: All these maintenance tasks related to the update should perform in the background with a low priority. Standard usage of the computer should never be effected in this disastrous way. Even the most basic operations such as copying a file seem to freeze the computer more than they should, like the computer tries to reach the maximum throughput regardless if there is a human who would also like to do some work on their computer instead of waiting until the computer has completed its "more important" work.

Also not acceptable is the total lack of effective diagnosis tools for these common conditions, including 100% CPU or memory, slow network bandwidth, and even more importantly, a lack of adequate self repair tools. Instead, the user is forced to scour the Internet for solutions, try disabling a bunch of services, edit the Registry, basically wreck their own computer system doing stuff that should never be done because they are not the root cause of the problem. Every month I waste several hours of my life in total waiting for Windows, experimenting or fixing Windows bugs, reading or writing these bug forums, etc.

The system should be set for automatically never ever reaching over, say 60-80% of the disk throughput  threshold, assigning lower priorities not just for CPU usage, but also for disk usage. If the user wants to increase this threshold or assign higher priorities to specific processes, provide a simple user interface to let them do so, but the factory settings should put the focus on the human user, not on low priority system processes. If an app uses too many resources, I also want the system to automatically lower this app's disk usage and notify me about it the first time, so I have a chance to choose to either let Windows do its stuff, or intervene manually to keep the app's disk usage priority to its high level because I, not Windows, say it's an important app. Or Microsoft could pull together users feedback to propose a specific priority for these known apps. I don't know, there's probably a thousand ways for Windows to do things right, so why choose these few ways to do them wrong?

I got this problem for years. Tried so many solutions but none of them could help.

This is win10 issue with HDD. Microsoft is pushing us to use SSD. They will never fix this.

Thanks for the reply. It did not resolve. As suggested, tried the following , 

1. Tried to select auto start for super fetch but received error msg

"The delayed auto start flag could not be set 

Error 87 :The Parameter is incorrect." . 

Tried stopping service , restarting machine but i couldn't select it so i finally disabled it.

2. Disabled HomeGroup Listener, the HomeGroup Provider and the Windows Search, as suggested.

Restarted machine and verified all those four services are in disabled status.

but disk is still showing  100% .  

Screen shot is below, when captured  screen shot avast occupied full disk, but some times some other thing...

single service is occupying full disk.

Pls help.
