Is it possible to uninstall the Windows 10 update assistant? When i delete it it just automaticly reinstalls itself when i start the pc again

I am afraid it's not working. The window pop-up again.

This technique - like all others posted here - does not work.  It appears to be impossible to remove, disable, delay or destroy this thing.  The only action that has any siccess is deleting the program every time it re-loads itself (in my case at least twice a day.

Amen to Z's post.  I am so sick of it too! The worst part is being held captive, with no where to turn.

The Update Assistant in Windows 10 cannot be uninstalled, but you can get rid of it

Click your Start Button, type Task Scheduler and hit enter

In the left Pane, navigate to: Windows - Update Orchestrater

Right Pane double click 'Update Assistant'

Click on Triggers Tab

On each of the triggers ( At login . . . etc.) double click and uncheck 'Enabled'

Under 'Update Assistant, there is another event 'Update Assistant CalendarRun'

Do the same for all triggers on that event

Restart your system, that's It!

I disabled all the triggers and then disable the task in the left panel for good measure.

No more update assistant pop ups!.

Did all the above but it did not work - perhaps because I do not really understand what running a file 'as an administrator' actually means in practice. 

Certain operations require administrator privileges. For example, a student at a high school would be unable to follow these directions on a school computer because the computer would require administrator privileges from the user before the system could be altered. In this example, the requirement for administrator privileges is mostly to protect the computers from being messed with by the students. If a student had administrator privileges, they could potentially cause a great amount of harm (e.g. access restricted information about other students, change grades, turn off every single computer on the school's network)

In your case, when you're the administrator for your computer, these operations still require administrator privileges as a security measure (for example, to prevent a malicious program from doing certain things against your wishes). It's not because the system doesn't trust you, it's just an added layer of security for your sake.

To run a file as an administrator, simply right click on the file and select run as administrator.
