Is it possible to uninstall the Windows 10 update assistant? When i delete it it just automaticly reinstalls itself when i start the pc again

Its soo **** annoying and i just want the <removed> poppup  to disapear. when i try update it just get the wrong code but i cant fix it so i just want to delete the **** assistant permanently.

The Update Assistant in Windows 10 cannot be uninstalled, but you can get rid of it

Click your Start Button, type Task Scheduler and hit enter

In the left Pane, navigate to: Windows - Update Orchestrater

Right Pane double click 'Update Assistant'

Click on Triggers Tab

On each of the triggers ( At login . . . etc.) double click and uncheck 'Enabled'

Under 'Update Assistant, there is another event 'Update Assistant CalendarRun'

Do the same for all triggers on that event

Restart your system, that's It!

    You gotta admit, its pretty horrible that you have to go disable 30+ things in Windows 10 just to put a stop to updates.  Every 6 hours this thing self installed, and only displayed an error about UEFI saying Windows 10 can't update.  You'd think Microsoft would be intelligent enough to make their program disable its self after discovering that its incapable of installing updates because of an unfixable error.

    You can try to uninstall Windows 10 Update Assistant by following these steps:

    1. Open Control Panel.
    2. Click Uninstall a program.
    3. Right click on Windows Update Assistant.
    4. Click Uninstall.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Of course that works: I do it at least twice daily!   The program then re-installs itself and makes another attempt to update Windows 10 - which, for reasons unknown to anyone (probably including itself), it finds impossible.

    My (and others') question is how one can unstall the update assistant permanently.

    Done that: achieves nothing.  I need either to find a way to remove the 'Update Assistant' completely and permanently or have help carrying my computer to the tip as the need to deal with the so-called 'Assistant' at least once a day is driving me to distraction!!

    Thanks, David. By the way, we would like to know what updates were trying to install in your computer and if there's an error message along with it. To check, please look into your computer's Windows Update History. Follow these steps:

    1. Open Settings > Update & Security.
    2. Click Windows Update > Update history.
    3. Click the link for the updates that failed to install to see the error message.

    If possible, send as a screenshot of those error. If not, please take note of the error message and its description.
