Windows 10 update sucks.

I'm running windows 10 since the very beginning and it is ok. Better saying, it was ok until 2 days ago when my computer was updated to the biggest update ever done. It happens that now it takes years to boot and a few minutes ago (that's when I turned it on) my fingerprint reader does not work anymore and during boot the monitor goes off just after windows starts. I wonder if Microsoft is paying the salaries of those programmers responsible for this update. Perhaps they have done something wrong to upset Microsoft, or is it just stupidity?

Now, I WANT my computer to work the way it did before this stupid update. I don´t won't to remember dozens of usernames and passwords (that's why I spent a lot of money buying a fingerprint reader, which now is useless due to the unprofessional update made by Microsoft). My Microsoft trackball runs or not runs after boot. Is this normal? Don't you test your programs before releasing them to the public?

Do you know what? You suck, just because you wanted to do this major update before Christmas. Well... you've ruined my Christmas with it. SHAME ON YOU!

Hello,

It is possible that system files might have been damaged or corrupted after installing an update, or that the update installed has known issues.

For resolving corrupted system files, you may run the System File Checker tool to scan and repair the system for corrupted system files. For information about running the tool, kindly see this article.

However, some issues occur only after installing a certain update. An example of a known issue in an update is after installing KB4074588 (latest update), USB devices, such as keyboard or mouse, stop working. Microsoft is already aware of this issue and will provide a resolution through an update. To see the list of known issues for each update, kindly see Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 update history.

If the System File Checker tool does not help, you can restore your PC from a system restore point. This would take your PC back to a point in time before an update is installed. For information on how to restore your PC from a system restore point, kindly see Recovery options in Windows 10.

After restoring, you may prevent the update from reinstalling by downloading and running the Show and hide updates troubleshooter. To read more about the troubleshooter, kindly read through this article.

    My sister in law lost several days of productivity at her small private business after this latest update DESTROYED her network.  Two days ago, my PC updates without my knowledge.  I look up and it's blue and telling me it is 1% into the update for 10 solid minutes.  I am standing in front of a room of students with hundreds viewing via live stream and I got NOTHING but blue screen.  So, that was an advertisement for Microsoft to all who were watching.

    Amazing incompetence.

    Thei updates have taken away my pictures and me DVD player. I tried to uninstall. but it won't let me. I do not want any updates- but they force them on me.

    they just recently took all my photos too

    i just bought a new optical dvdrw external to put my  hundreds of pounds worth of photo and video editing software on and windows 10 will not let me install them, every piece of hardware is a mine field and a slog even to get working, microsoft have fixed there system so we are totally reliant on them, win 7 never had any of these issues as badly as this... even to get Dolby for gaming & movies you default logged into dolby atmos which doesnt work properly with spatial channel....how because you are tagged into microsoft store by default....it sucks no more freedom for users...wish i had stayed with win.7 all my discs are now useless.

    a few years ago, I did something that I wish I had done a while ago I...SWITCHED TO LINUX.

    Linux mint. and its been great for my day to day workflow of writing docs and more and I takes 8 secs to boot on my i3 clocked at 2.0. highly recommend you do the same if your having problems like this!

    You're sure this is Microsoft's problem, right?

    I've been using a computer longer than you, and although I've learned a tremendous amount in that time, I still scr*w up. When that happens, my first reaction isn't "Microsoft, fix it!"

    The first thing I do is go on the web and research the problem. And I don't do my research in community forums with people who never learned how to operate a computer properly in the first place. I learn from the experts, the pros, the people who know what they're talking about.

    Of course software has bugs. Anything made by humans has bugs. But the definition of a bug isn't something somebody doesn't know how to do.

    When a computer is setup correctly, updates don't erase pictures. And even if they did, someone with your experience knows to make daily backups. You also know how to troubleshoot hardware. So what's all this crying to Microsoft?
