    What a Valentines gift for me. Received an up date 2 days ago and every time I log back into my profile, my files are gone. Looks like this issue has been going on for a few months now... Microsoft. What are you doing about this?

    Gicoms, dont wait for a Microsoft statement - it wont ever happen.

    In their world;

            admission of fault = liability.

    This shows how big the issue is, and the continued stunning silence from Microsoft.

    actually, Microsoft is aware and already stopped the distribution of the fall update.

    i'm another victim of the april update.  all of my pictures and videos are GONE!

    If there is class action lawsuit going I'd like to join.   anyone know of one?

    this is my computer.  and for microsoft to update it and delete all of my files off of it is illegal.  it has to be.  this is the last straw for me.   i'm installing linux.   i can't have my computer being corrupted.  it used to be i had to worry about viruses.  now i have to worry about windows updates.  I'm done with this company.

    As I have posted a few times now. Even tho Microsoft says they can do it via remote it is impossible to. The hard drive needs to be removed from the computer and slaved to another computer and then have the files copied off. This is the ONLY way to recover the files. I have worked on this issue so much in the last month that I have found this is the only way to do it..

    What did I say in Number 1 and 2. This is the only way to get to your files.. Print out my directions and take it to your local computer repair place. Not Best Buy or Staples but an actual computer place. They will fix it for you. Expect to spend around 100 dollars to get this fixed..
