I recently upgraded my Dell XPS 9333 laptop from windows 10 1703 to 1709. Consequence: the sound device in the system tray is marked with a red cross. The RealTek audio doesn't work anymore.
Before the windows upgrade my RealTek audio driver was the most recent version. Removing and installing the RealTek audio driver doesn't solve the problem.
How can the problem be solved?

Same Problem.
Micosoft, pls provide solution ASAP.
I have the same problem and I had to make the decision to go back to a previous Windows compilation. It has been the only way to recover my audio.
I hope there is someone with a better solution to have Windows updated with the audio working well.
Hello Jane,
What's new in your proposal?
I went to the realtek site http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
I did install the Vista/Win7 64 bit driver:
Result: still the same; not working.
Isn't this you proposed?
Kind regards,
Luc
