Amazon Device randomly showing up on Network.

Turning off 'Alexa' solved this problem for us too. I put it on a remote control switch so my wife could listen to music but then turn if off otherwise. Alexa listens continuously and records all that she can hear. A recent murder was solved by listening to recordings from the victim's home made by Alexa.

My experience on my network and several of my customer's networks is the Windows Connect Now service which actively scans for WiFI networks.  I general find it is an amazon device (like Fire TV, Echo, Kindle, etc.) they often setup as a private WiFi access Network to allow connections from their remote controls for setup purposes (especially since they switched from Bluetooth to WiFi for remote controls.

I've got a random Amazon KFAUWI device showing up on my network as a device beside my driver for my router. Can anyone help? I am sure it is not a device in my house, as everything is set to something we've done or one of our names. Can anyone tell me if i'm stupid or if this is a general happening?

I've just noticed this lately, and copied the mac addresses off suspect server, and went in router, blocking their access.  They go away.  Have not noticed it since.  I had full_buscit and mediatek showing up.  Amazon.com prime is my chief suspect.  

If someones knows a valid reason for not blocking them, I'd remove the block.  I look at it as corporate spyware, and question someone for not making me aware as the network manager that this would occur.  Bad judgement is one thing, but this is almost criminal.  lol
