Amazon Device randomly showing up on Network.

Original question:

I've got a random Amazon KFAUWI device showing up on my network as a device beside my driver for my router. Can anyone help? I am sure it is not a device in my house, as everything is set to something we've done or one of our names. Can anyone tell me if i'm stupid or if this is a general happening?

    Sounds to me like you've got someone who hacked your Network's Password.  They shouldn't show up if they aren't a part of your network.

    I would recommend changing your PW to something that is 16-32 characters in length, mixing capital and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters.  An example of personal favorite of mine is QWER!@#$qwer1234

    I have the same issue on my win 10 16299.371 build.  The device ha sa MAC id 78:el:03:19:66:32, Amazon model KFDOWI, no other identifiers.  It shows up when I first access my network, disappears shortly after I check its properties.  I reset my network, pass codes and allowed devices.  Network has to prompt for permission for unknown devices.  This device doesn't show up in the IP lists in the router as an allowed or blocked device.  This started happening a few win 10 updates ago.  So many people have this issue, something is fishy.  This is not likely a network issue but is likely a software issue. 

    Similar issues are happening on random passcode set networks.

    So I had a device called "full_biscuit" appearing on my network overview in Windows 10. It showed as an Amazon device, has no IP address, does not show up on the router. Very much the same as most people.

    DoubleTT_845 was correct, this is related to WPS. I disabled this on my router (thought I had done that before but have updated firmware since and I guess did not turn it off) and the device is no longer showing up.

    I turned WPS back on after about 10 minutes and the device came back after about 30 seconds.

    Ok so today I discovered "Austin" on my network. After a quick skim through this thread, and a Google search for the "Model: KFAUWI" turns out it's my Mom's Kindle that she hasn't used in ages, but turned it on today.

    So today I discovered "Austin" on the network. A quick skim through these posts, and a google search of the "Model KFAUWI" turns out to be the o/s on my Mom's Amazon Kindle (an old one).
