++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    • the situation of the Windows 10 Mobile (8) tech ecosystem can be compared to the game "My little pony" (Hasbro + Gameloft) + Lumia has multidimensional significance : snowflakes are complex & multidimensional (look at them closely) & they also represent light & are a source of water, which in turn helps life ++ "My little pony" is compatible with Windows Phone 8.1, but maybe at this point it is not available in the Windows Phone 8.1 store ++ you can play for some light in PONYVILLE ++

    Here we go again - 

    The only market exceeding 1% is Vatican City which is essentially a small town surrounded by Rome; truly a mobile OS colossus!!

    On the other hand, here in the USA, I'm starting to get a website or two telling me that the Windows Edge browser on my Lumia (which has been kept updated) is an old version no longer supported by their operation.

    Oops - with all the gamemakers that are still plugging away, does that mean I don't have to worry about getting real work done?? If only to pay my cell phone bill??

    Facebook just ended support for all their apps on Windows 10 Mobile - that's Facebook, Messenger and Instagram - on June 30th and removed them from the Store. But you can still play Mahjong so who cares !

    • when you have a great product & the business results are not what you expect, then you have to have problems with your marketing strategy & distribution strategy ++ apps are minor issues (all the major apps were there at one point of time & still there are many to max the memory or SD card) ++ as for the future ask yourself what Windows Phones can do & will be amazed ++ no kidding ++

    PS an example of marketing mistake the Lumia 520 was better marketed than the Microsoft Lumia devices & feel the difference in ad impact between the two approaches (Lumia 520 vs Lumia 550/650/950XL, reflected also in music Major LAZERs "Get free" vs the "Sun goes down" song by DABIN) ++ but of course the Sun can go up as well ++

    Uh, no:

    When you hear, ".. Google is about to rule the smartphone market with Andriod" (sp), remember the variations on a theme that can be carrier dependent which may be one reason why VZW is slow in picking up the Moto G7 that was released in February. Perhaps Pixel owners have something close to real "Android", but others, not as much.

    As for Chromebooks, they aren't powerful enough to handle the work of even true laptop, even an entry level one; maybe if you could strip Chrome out and install a LINUX flavor that runs on low-end hardware like DSL.

    Lastly, as the article points out, too many people are aware of how underhanded Google has been vis a vis data collection. I advise any client that asks not to use the Chrome browser.

    Somewhere in the middle of all this, security has to count for something.
