++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. Oops - sorry, but no. The acquisition is seen by the international business community, at best, as a possible technology to improve future Nokia android phone camera performance without any reference to Windows Mobile OS whatsoever - and, no offence, but I note the complete lack of MS tags on the go-faster picture on your post.
There is no real boundary between devices any more, I use one of my device on the desk to talk and video chat, and my second device to browse the net and my third to watch video. And I use Windows on each device. I do not have to think how to do something, because they are almost the same on each device.
So if MS drops W10 mobile than they need to continue with W10 on arm or W10 core or W10 S. For me it is not really relevant. Giving up on device >A< will crus MS market on device >B<.
Windows is currently on desktops because you can install on every peace of hardware. Why is >phone< so much different? Phones are computers in our packets with arm cpu and some 3G, 4G, gsm modems.

Yes, some older phones are not upgradeable. Nor should they be. Old tech, low memory. They still work. Shall we talk about how Microsoft pushed the kill switch on phones in the past? If we are talking battery heat, look no further than the 640 and 950 Windows phones. And shall we mention over heating issues caused by Windows Mobile OS updates?
Again, what new phones? There isn't any.
I assume that Mercedes and AMG want to continue in the car industry, correct? Microsoft has no interest in making phones. Its over. I'll bet there will not be a Surface foldable device before December 2019, which, BTW, is when all support for current Windows Mobile phones will likely end. Boy, think that may be a coincidence?
Nokia didnt have anything to do with the later Microsoft phones, such as the 950 line. Microsoft bought that certain segment.
Hence MS should allow us to Get our Mobiles replaced with Operating system from window to Android through very good chain of service centres. Cause Anyway Nokia started producing Android based devices, then they should Not abandon us with No Support etc.
