- you need some imagination to get it right with the car comparisons // maybe it is not a perfect match, but the McLaren Mercedes period can be assimilated with the Nokia Windows Phone OS years (like McLaren with Renault engines, Nokia after some struggles is back in business & has a notable role in some important markets like UK, FIN, RUS) // but Nokia has been a leading competitor with Windows Phone OS // likewise McLaren Mercedes has been competitive & won 3 times the drivers' title in F1 //
- of course Mercedes has purchased Brawn GP (a world champion, but with declining performances at the 2nd half of the 2009 season), which also had been powered by Mercedes engines, in order to have its own F1 team // likewise Microsoft has purchased the Nokia phone business for 7+ billion & after some years of operation in 2012 Mercedes AMG F1 has found itself in flat 0 points position in the 2nd half of that season (the relief has come only on the last race of the season in Brazil with SCH's 7th place finish) // so if you have the good will you can learn from this example & can find others in other domains, but I like Formula 1 //
- the native apps with fluent design on mobile are MS Phone, MS store & MS Groove // they are UWP apps, but active also on the little brother Windows 10 mobile //
- the Lumia line has existed for many years & has been important for smartphone history, it is discontinued or better to say we are in a prolonged time-out in NBA terminology (but in a time-out you prepare the players, you prepare the strategy ) //
++ the future of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones ++
++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++ #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

2018-08-07T11:15:17+00:00 - there are sparks of development, e.g. the development of fluent design in a couple of native apps // I hope that Windows 10 mobile & its upgrades will power Microsoft's new mobile (the Lumia line is too great and performant to be left out of business) & mobile capability devices //
PS : Mercedes AMG F1 & McLaren Mercedes have represented 2 remarkable stages of Mercedes' involvement in the F1 //

2018-07-30T16:26:19+00:00 - have read all the opinions & from each viewpoint we can adjust our own viewpoint & make it more competitive // comebacks are not easy (+ I remember the attempt of Ray & Anita (2 unlimited) with "in da name of love" +) & the fans want to benefit from Windows 10 as a service also in mobile & that is why I have tried to make some noise // a Surface foldable device with phone features would make Microsoft Mobile stronger & that is + // but Windows 10 Mobile as a service has to reach also the emerging markets of Asia, America, Africa & Europe & why not Oceania & that is where the Lumia line can do the trick // e.g. the Gates Foundation has many actions in Africa & so you have to care also for the smartphone market // these devices will not go away & I think that for some years they will not change fundamentally & the market can reach 4 billion devices in a couple years // fans have said also in this discussion that the key is to adapt supply to demand // if fans want 20 million devices a year manufacture that amount & if they want 10 million then be happy with 10 million // the company has the resources to invest in this hobby (here we recognize the merits of the management team) & a hobby can become profitable in many ways // happy Anniversary Windows 10 as a service //
P.S. when you hear about MS maybe not the success of Microsoft Mobile comes in your mind, but the company still has many great innovations in this field & can build on that.

2018-07-29T06:19:47+00:00 - maybe I am too optimistic, but a multidimensional view can enrich our perspective & even a very productive CEO can make mistakes // like in sports a competitive striker is not necessarily a strong defender or a sprinter is not necessarily a hill climber (tour de france) // in my opinion it is never a good idea to abandon millions of true fans for some potential hybrid fans & so think twice before shut down the extraordinary Microsoft Lumia //
++ for potential buyers the difficult option is the jungle of amazon and ebay, where genuine quality are at risk // you can also try amazon.de //
