What i did was the app reset. Now its nowhere . Not in Cortana, Apps and Features, etc. I ran the troubleshooter from Microsoft. both inbuilt and the one downloaded from MS. And I can get this message " you need a new app to open this ms-windows-store. "

Is it completely gone? or can I reregister it ?

I had this problem too and none of the store fixes worked
I did have boot time issue as well so I tried this and it fixed the store & boot time hangs

    Jolie Princess Katana

When I tried this the 1st time & it was a fail.. got a boot error message.

I did have to delete the Panther cache dat file. Then tried again.

And then it WORKED- MY MS store and windows apps are back.
Photoshop & Bridge, Office Outlook, other programs I installed still work.

I keep all my photos/docs/files on another drive.

Boot time was almost 4 minutes before.

    Now 26 seconds

    THANK YOU

    Very Grateful

Note: before doing this make sure to create a restore point: https://support.microsoft.com/en-hk/help/402753...

    1. go to this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...
    2. Select Download tool, and select Run. You need to be an administrator to run this tool.
    3. On the License terms page, if you accept the license terms, select Accept.
    4. On the What do you want to do? page, select Upgrade this PC now, and then select Next.
    5. After downloading and installing, it should fix the issue.

    Reference: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...
Note: if you receive error: “This Pc can’t be upgrade, follow the steps below”
Method 1. Go to C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther then delete the file name compatscancache.dat
Then try again or reboot the PC first then try again.
You might not see the folder as it is hidden, make sure to show hidden files first.

Let me know how does it goes and I hope that helps.

    If nothing works, look here

Windows 10 Store not Installed [FIXED] - Appuals.com

If you have tried actually everything.

Many sites list only the first 8 options

For me it was Solution 10:

Use the Microsoft Store Appx Package Installer

    And try your luck there.

It may happen that the store appxbundle has a weird name after downloading - but they still work via powershell, or you may try different bundles, depending on your version.

hint: Powershell as admin: Add-AppxPackage .\filename
