What i did was the app reset. Now its nowhere . Not in Cortana, Apps and Features, etc. I ran the troubleshooter from Microsoft. both inbuilt and the one downloaded from MS. And I can get this message " you need a new app to open this ms-windows-store. "

 Is it completely gone? or can I reregister it ?

    You want to see something pitiful as far as trying to get this to work? Read through the thread that I started a couple of months ago. The advisor that helped me is a real trooper and helped me every step of the way but I came to the end of the road.

    Through my past years in MSDN I can tell you that Microsoft can fix this. I saw them do some amazing things and they have some incredible engineers. For some reason the Store is not a priority. It's a bit surprising since the Store was once the centerpiece of their UWP.

    I just wanted it to to use WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux). I can probably get WSL2 when it comes out but all the distros (different kinds of Linux) can only be gotten from the Store. So I"m stuck.

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Windows PowerShell (Admin)

    At the command prompt, type the following then hit Enter:

    Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Restart, then try launching the Store again.
