Hi,

After updating to the new version, I am seeing high CPU use from two processes:

Any ideas on how to make them not use a lot of CPU so that my laptop cools down and the fan stops blowing?

Hi all,

Had the same problem myself and found the solution which is quite simple :

Go to settings -> update & security -> Windows Defender -> Open Windows Defender -> Firewall & Network protection

Then you need to disable the firewall for all the types of networks

once that's done click on restore settings

That should do the trick and you're cpu usage should return to normal.

Hope it helps, it did for me.

My system speaks Finnish, so I'm not absolutely sure about these names. When right clicking Internet Connectin Sharing, go to Properties and you'll find a drop down menu with the option to turn automatic start off (or make it manual if you want).

For me it looks like Internet Connection Sharing is stuck on a status of Starting.  If I right click on it in Services, the Stop option is grayed out.

The only problem with this fix, is if the PC reboots; the problem reappears, ICS does NOT stay disabled.  for whatever reason it comes back on and the CPU goes back to racing at 30% to 60%... so partial fix only.

I hope Microsoft will fix soon...

So...  its back.  I insert the USB port that goes to my displaylink hub, and that caused this issue to resurface and now it will not go away.  Man this is frustrating.

Rolling back to previous version - not ready for fall I guess!
