Hi,

After updating to the new version, I am seeing high CPU use from two processes:

Any ideas on how to make them not use a lot of CPU so that my laptop cools down and the fan stops blowing?

Hi all,

Had the same problem myself and found the solution which is quite simple :

Go to settings -> update & security -> Windows Defender -> Open Windows Defender -> Firewall & Network protection

Then you need to disable the firewall for all the types of networks

once that's done click on restore settings

That should do the trick and you're cpu usage should return to normal.

Hope it helps, it did for me.

Well I'm sick entire of this Windows 10. Only problems after problems. Since it's lunch Windows 10 worked as a beta version of an OS. I had enough of the re installation of Windows 10 again and again. After each major update, you end up with new problems and bugs. What's the point of the Insider program if the release each time a new version full with bugs and problems? I'm sorry but Windows 10 is worse than Windows 8.1. Windows 8 and 10 = Vista 2. Now I have 2 options, either I'm going back to Windows 7 PRO or Ultimate, either I'm starting a hackintosh on my laptop so I can have macOS High Sierra + Windows 7 in Parallels when I need a program that's not on mac. But It will be fine, all the programs that I work in they have a version for macOS too, and for games CS GO and LOL have version on macOS as well. If I want to play other games I will have GeForce Now and LiquidSky. Sorry Microsoft and Windows, but goodbye and rip.

It will not work. I got an answer from Connectify. Microsoft did some changes to 1709, and now some programs are not really compatible with this version of the os. The programs work but they are causing high cpu usage. Connectify recommend me to not update the os to 1709 until Microsoft is releasing a patch for this problem, but i doubt they will. So now developers need to edit their programs so they can work fine whitout problems on Windows 10.
